We used this pair of walkie talkies to communicate between two vehicles while traveling to the beach. We drove through the Smoky Mountains, so the range was nowhere near 23 miles, but they performed well. Battery life was good also. We were in the car about 8 hours while using these radios and were able to navigate our way without burning up cell-phone minutes.
These come with a charging base and will also accept most charging cables with a mini-USB plug.
I would recommend these highly.

Nice if it works
I liked the size and feel of the unit but one of the two radios in the set had a loud hum. I returned the set and hope to get a replacement soon.

We have a boarding kennel and had trouble keeping in touch with each other while out in the yard. Our cell phones had a poor reception so the two-way radios work fabulous. We are instantly in contact for emergencies or to let it known lunch is ready. We feel we have gotten our money worth of use.

In a church nursery to contact ushers because they are in need of parental assistance. The bright yellow color helps distinguish them so they're easy to find.

I just tested this item in Yosemite Valley. It actually works really good within the main valley. I haven't yet tested between the mountains but I'm sure it will do fine. I'm looking forward to test it in the 15-23 mile range. More comments coming soon.

this walkie talkie works great when we had hiking at mountain si, cannon beach, oregon coast, etc.
For urban usage, it's a little bit weak, the talking distance might be only <0.5miles. Both my wife and I like the color, design and functions of this walkie talkie, it definitely added lots of fun for our hiking and trip.

Really nothing much to say about this product as it just works perfectly. My kids are enjoying it for indoor and outdoor use. The range is respectable and the noise is barely audible. If I had to buy new walkie-talkies, I would definitely buy the same.

The radios are used to stay in touch while taking care of our six apartment buildings. These work very well for this as they are very clear and the batteries last for days between charges for us.
Motorola makes high quality radios and have for many, many years!

I use the radios for rock climbing expeditions. Very helpful on multi-pitch routes when you can't hear your partner shouting. The distances are short in these scenarios, so range has not been an issue. Excellent voice clarity and decent battery life. NOAA weather radio receiver is very useful for determining incoming weather.
