Worked right out of the box. Easy to set up and haven't had any playback issues. At [$], it was the best price I could find on the net. My local [...] wanted [$] for the same unit. The only issue (minor) that I had with the unit was learning how to use the remote to control the ipod once it was docked. There are no instructions on how to use your receiver's remote to control the ipod so it was a little frustrating the first couple of times I used it. However, a little trial and error got me through my frustration and comfortable with the process. Although it's not a perfect dock, it does what it is supposed to do.

I have an iPhone 3GS and a ONKYO TX-SR707 Receiver. Pretty sure I could have saved a ton of money by purchasing a different cable from someone else. I'm very disapointed that dock and ONKYO TX-SR707 Receiver only works with iPhone's default photos app and iPod app to display photos and album/track info. It may also work with iTunes app, but I haven't gone there yet. Be aware that music info while using an online music source, like Pandora, will not display. Haven't tried YouTube, but i suspect that won't work either. Bummer!!! I had also purchased a photo slide show app that takes my photos and does a much better job with transitions... was really hoping to diplay photos while playing an online source (Pandora). However, when I try to play these photos from the app... nothing! The sound for the music works, but that's it. Dock works OK I guess... it's just not a good value for the money. Other options would do just as good for less than $10.

Comments about Onkyo UP-A1 Remote Interactive Dock for iPod:
This product is exactly as I expected: simple. It is mostly made of black plastic with a cord that plugs directly into the Onkyo system. I do like that, with this interface, you can control your IPod using the Onkyo. It would be nice if it were made of more durable material, as opposed to cheap looking black plastic, but all-in-all it is a good product.

Easy to connect/use. Connects to not only Onkyo receivers, but also Integra receivers as well (they are both made by the same company).

Comments about Onkyo UP-A1 Remote Interactive Dock for iPod:
I purchased this as a great addition to my Onkyo receiver. You can access the music on your iphone/ipod through your Onkyo remote controller which adds to the wow factor. However, Onkyo should've included this dock with the receiver in the first place. This dock was very easy to install. If you are thinking of purchasing this for your receiver, get it and you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Onkyo UP-A1 Remote Interactive Dock for iPod:
I bought an Integra DTR-30.1 AV receiver in late 2009. It was advertised to work with Onkyo UP-A1 iPod Dock, utilizing all of its available features (including On Screen Display) through the Integra's Extended Mode ability. My AV receiver manual has three pages dedicated to hooking up this specific dock with the Universal Port Adapter.
I purchased the UP-A1 iPod Dock, hooked it up, and… no On Screen Display.
I contacted Onkyo and was informed "There is no OSD support from the UP-A1 through the Integra DTR-30.1 receiver."
Onkyo and Integra are the same company. How can the communication between the two create such an avoidable handicap?
I sent back the UP-A1 and bought a $3.50 RCA cable instead.

It is easy to connect ipod devices to receiver, charges while it plays, and works nicely.

Comments about Onkyo UP-A1 Remote Interactive Dock for iPod:
In my previous review I stated that the iPod dock would not display photos when connected to my TX-SR507 receiver. I subsequently discovered that the iPod dock will not send video via the HDMI cable to my TV, but will do so via a composite video cable connected from the monitor output of the Onkyo receiver to a composite video input of the TV.
Thus I change my rating to 5 stars. It is a great addition to my system.
Comments about Onkyo UP-A1 Remote Interactive Dock for iPod:
Really works. It's great to hook up the iPod and control it using the remote control.
