I'm not an audio tech but I easily used this system under stressful conditions while also operating my 5d. The wireless transmitter for the boom is genius. I bought the Sennheiser case and I would recommend that as an option. Definitely would also recommend something to combat wind on the mics.

I have used these in Live television for many years.... I have dropped them out of helicopters and abused them.... I have gotten the transmitters totally soaked in the rain and dried them out and they worked fine... In normal production they have been dropped and kicked around and continue to perform like new. They work well with an assortment of mics...
I also have Lectrosonics too. but, I choose to use the Sennheiser G Series most of the time. Why? Because It's light, it's rugged, dependable and it sounds good... Need I say more?

I use this product on commercial shoots... i haven't used this a ton but from what i have it seems wonderful... i also am very happy with the quality and build of the product!

Works great and it fits its purpose very nicely. Can save you from situations when you are not able to use a shotgun microphone. Good signal reception and transmission.

I use this kit to supplement my older G2. The auxillary connector allows me to connect to my H4n and other older SD camcorders.

I have purchased 2 of these Evolution G3 units from B&H and absolutely love them. I do event videography for a living and my shoot locations change on a daily basis. What is great about these units they quickly scan for available/open frequencies in your current location. Then the receiver quickly "links" with the transmitter. Transmitter sensitivity can be quickly adjusted to accept mic input or line-level input. I have countless hours using both units at the same time and have had not dropout/hits. Sound quality is stellar! Another + is that these units run for about 8hr on 2AA batteries, that's huge! No real negatives to report. One note: the manual says that output of the receiver at 0db is line-level but it is not, it is definitely a mic-level output. Even if you bump the receiver's output up to a max of +12db it still does not register levels on a line input device. Not sure why they state that but these units are definitely made for a camcorder's mic input. I HIGHLY RECOMED THIS UNIT.

My primary use for this equipment is in documentary work. The Evolution G3 series is excellent for documentary work. The wireless mic provided may prove a bit flimsy when not used with much care, but certainly does the job for sit-down interviews. The two different transmitters are especially useful, and with a second receiver, I can run both the shotgun mic and the lavalier wirelessly.

I bought the Wireless mic Combo to assist me with recording for commercials and documentaries I am working on . The audio is so clear and crisp . I have no complaints about this product . I used the same wireless mics in school and found them to be very good quality so i was not hesitant to buy the combo kit for myself to do my own freelance work .

I use the audio for even video recording. The sound quality is fantastic. You get what you pay for. It is a high priced system, but I wouldn't recommend getting anything else.

What more can be said about Sennheiser? Great value, quality and performance. We use this wireless mic combo in studio settings, and around the world in disaster response coverage. We have two identical sets, and neither has ever failed. And, hey, the audio quality is great too.

This is our third Sennheiser wireless unit. These are rock solid units that are extremely affordable for what you get. When you need consistent audio that is clean, Sennheiser units will deliver.

I would suggest using a third party lav mic, the one that ships with the units is ok, but not great.

Sennheiser never let me down and the G3 100 series is perfect for my videography. I just got another Sony EX1 and, of course, got myself another set. I don't understand why the metal belt clips need to be so difficult to put on but once they are on then they do the trick. I wonder if the plastic that holds the clip to the unit will eventually break after time.

The lavalier elements don't just plug into the transmitters, they SCREW IN for added security. And sound quality? Our team at Check The Gate Films was blown away.
