Simple to use. You turn both devices on and they are already configured to work on spot. It has the flexibility to use multiple frequencies for you to work under to prevent overlaps with other signals. If you change the frequency on the receiver, you can easily map the new frequency to the transmitter by simply holding the two devices close together at a 3 inch range, through the infrared signals built into both the devices.

Build quality is metal so it's durability is highly constructed (except for the plastic cover that goes over two AA batteries.

The Microphone Clip - is the only reason why I gave it a 4 Star

The small black clip that comes along with the microphone is cheap, as some reviews have mentioned, it can easily break if you are not careful as the gap on the clip is fairly small so it forces you to use quite some force to attach the microphone clip onto the lavalier microphone wire. I believe it is because the clip is not built by Sennheiser but is instead a cheap third party clip that was included to make it so it has a microphone clip. If you force the clip on/off too much on the wire, it may start to bend and damage the wire on the lavalier microphone (not good on such an expensive microphone). So my advice is to (throw it away period) not use the clip that comes with it but instead get a new clip with a wider gap so it doesn't ruin the wire overtime - or use some kind of other clippings that would not ruin the wire.

When I first got the product, I attach the black clip and I can already see some dents in the wire because of the force pressure I had to use to slip it on the wire. (if I had been more careful and took my time, maybe I would've gotten the clip on without denting or wearing the wire, but even if you get it on, I just still don't like how the curvature of the clip was bending the microphone wire too much.

This is still the best professional video camera wireless lav system. (Certainly, you could spend over $3000 for Lectrosonics model) but this is rock solid performance with an affordable price tag!

Purchased this for our product feature and demonstration videos with the Canon 7d. What a difference... easy set up... a few adjustments to transmitter sensitivity and output of the receiver and the audio is golden.

The G3 is a workhorse in the film production industry, for good reason. It's a great product, the menus are comprehensible, the sound quality is excellent. A minor gripe would be that the alligator clip makes it so difficult to insert the fragile mic cable that you risk damaging it as you try to push it in, and the windscreen is ridiculously oversized, making it impossible for narrative film when you need to hide the mic. The mic is no Sanken or Tram, but it does the job. Unless you want to pony up four figures for a Lectrosonics, this is the only viable wireless lav to get.

I have used this product to do 1 hour live internet streamed videos as well as recording them for future viewing. I plugging in the devices and they worked right away with super crisp sound and no fiddling. I thought I was going to have to get in depth with the instructions until I figured out the fine details but it was not to be! They worked right out of the box. A wonderful choice for anyone looking to take their sound to the next level.

I use this for location sound work for indie film. I ordered the cardioid package with the intent of using the cardioid as a plant mic. For actors, I attach a Tram TR-50 to the pack.
Range and clarity are great. I do miss the level meters on the G2 series as the ones on the G3 are vertical and not as easy to see. They also see to lag a bit.

Use it for speakers at live events and interviews. Always records perfect audio and includes an XLR adapter for prosumer camcorders that don't have XLR inputs.
