Comments about Sennheiser EW122-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME4 Lavalier Mic (B / 626 - 668 MHz):
I create training and development programs and require the use of a good audio mic. I have used the boom microphones in the past, but the sound quality they capture is variable, not to mention that if you move your head to the side, the audio level of the recording changes. So I went on a search for a new mic and I wanted a lavaliere that connected directed to the hot shoe of my video camera. Found the EW122-p G3 and it is awesome. Easy to hookup and the quality of the recording is just awesome. Highly recommend this product.

Comments about Sennheiser EW122-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME4 Lavalier Mic (B / 626 - 668 MHz):
It is pricey for a single mic unit, but I have yet (3 months as of this post) to hear any interference or distortion from this pack.
I can plug it in to my Zoom h4n and carry both packs in my pockets for mobile shooting with my dslr.

Comments about Sennheiser EW122-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME4 Lavalier Mic (B / 626 - 668 MHz):
I have the generation before this one & it really failed me several times. The old screen didn't have enough information & what it did give was useless. The old system had lots of weird quirks like losing settings when you replaced the batteries, changes in gain etc... all these malfunctions (if you are setting up in a hurry & don't have time to do a proper sound check like at a wedding) have been addressed in this version.
The screen is orange instead of green so it is easier to read from further away there are multiple read outs on the screen at the same time like you know what the battery level is &your input level at a glance.
The Sennheiser sound is always good & since they fixed the bugs it makes me a better videographer.

we use this at live events so it's vital that it's done right the first time as it's often the only chance we've got. this system is rock solid and the unit is very well built. it's fairly similar to the G2 system we have in terms of ease of use and crystal clear audio.

Comments about Sennheiser EW122-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME4 Lavalier Mic (B / 626 - 668 MHz):
I've used a number of wireless microphone systems in the past, and sadly most have been less-than-great, with some downright terrible.
This unit is a different matter entirely.
It has a very high degree of flexibility in terms of channel selection and the feature set is easy to use and keep track of. It uses standard AA batteries, so you can always find a spare set if you wind up with a flat pack at a bad time.
But you buy a microphone for how it **sounds** - dynamic range, noise rejection (in this case as the element is a cardioid) and lack of annoyances such as crosstalk and other misbehavior.
My use is for "on-camera" interviews, studio work and speeches, typically feeding into a HD Camcorder where I have no direct audio feed from the venue itself. As such I need a light and unobtrusive "on speaker" bodypack that gives me a clean audio feed to go with the video.
You get what you pay for in this unit. It's not inexpensive, but quality never is. Build quality is excellent with a metal chassis and locking plugs on both the transmitter and receiver so movement by the wearer (or a bump on the other end) doesn't accidentally disconnect the microphone or line level feed. The select and menu buttons are appropriately guarded by an aluminum swing-down cover (which also covers the battery compartment) so the wearer doesn't accidentally shut the unit off or change its settings by bumping into things. The receiver's auto-scanning function works as advertised, the IR pairing makes synchronization trivial and instantaneous, and the sound quality is excellent, with no notable noise, crosstalk or distortion. Input and output level adjustments (on the mic and output side) are of adequate range to accommodate most equipment and while the built-in level indicators on the units are a bit slow to respond they're adequate; a peak-level lamp to detect clipping helps. It comes with both a camcorder-friendly 3-wire mini plug output and an unbalanced XLR cable for connection to a professional mixing board (or larger DVCAM "pro" camcorder) and as such should be able to connect to most audio gear without the need for adapters. If you have multiple units in use you can set an alpha tag on the unit so you know which is which by glancing at the screen - very useful - and when you use the IR pairing function the alpha tag is copied over along with the RF settings.
I will likely buy another, this with the omni element, both to have redundancy and a "second path" for those times I need two feeds into a mixing board; in addition it appears these receivers will pair properly with the Sennheiser handheld (as opposed to lav) wireless mics, which provides even more versatility. While you'll never get wired quality with a wireless setup this combination gets darn close and does the job where wired mics can't.
I can't find a thing NOT to like about this set on balance, which is unusual - I'm typically a pretty harsh critic and can almost always find something I don't care for.
This setup is the exception and provides excellent value for the money.

Comments about Sennheiser EW122-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME4 Lavalier Mic (B / 626 - 668 MHz):
I use two of these units for field shoots - one with the ME-2 omni, one with the ME-4 cardioid. I feed them into each channel of my JVC GY-HD200. Then I can mix the sound to maximize/minimize background sounds. It is the BEST wireless audio system I have used in over 40 years in the business. Highly recommended!
