Speakerphone 2 from Audio Ease is a plug-in that uses acoustic modeling to deliver a very wide range of speaker models. Impulse sources range from cell phones and walkie-talkies, through vintage radios, on to guitar cabinets, and much more in between.
The plug-in features much more than a speaker IRs (Impulse Responses). A comprehensive complement of DSP includes a dynamics section, EQ, gate, vinyl disc emulation, along with delay, codec and radio tuning emulations.
Convolution reverb is powered by Altiverb and provides room, outdoor space, hall, resonant enclosures and reverb gear simulations. Additionally, a large selection of sample files are included that can be easily moved between the plug-in and the host application.
Speakerphone 2 builds on an already solid foundation of the original version and adds more modules, such as a faithful Leslie emulation, expanded guitar rigs, multiple LFOs with virtual patch cords for modulating various plug-in settings, and enhanced GUI sections.
The software is the perfect tool for film and video audio post production, but is equally at home in the studio as a comprehensive vocal, guitar or other instrument channel strip.

Comments about Audio Ease Speakerphone 2 - Speaker Modeling Software:
Speakerphone 2 has been designed very carefully and very well using convolution and modeling. The sound quality is exemplary and the included samples show just how much work has been put into it. I don't think I have seen any other plugin that provides this much detail.
Note: They also give you a summary of each speaker in the user guide.

Comments about Audio Ease Speakerphone 2 - Speaker Modeling Software:
I bought Speakerphone 2 because I do audio production for commercials and audio dramas and needed to be able to run sounds through various speakers and place them in various locations (such as having a newscaster on a TV set in the next room). I use ProTools LE and the plug-in performed flawlessly for me. Everything is automatable and the sound is very believable. The only two drawbacks are (1) the background loops run constantly so that when you press STOP, even with the effect faded down, the loop may become audible again. Not sure why this happens and it doesn't affect the production itself, but it can be a little annoying. (2) Speakerphone is a pretty hefty piece of software and it uses a lot of "System Resources." This caused error messages occasionally when editing unless I clicked BYPASS on the plugin. I've been meaning to install more RAM and that would probably fix the problem.Again, these are just a few annoyances, but the plugin does what it says and makes my job much easier when it comes to sound design. I'm very glad I bought it,[...]
