The Cooling Pad N100 (Green) from Logitech is a device designed to cool your notebook computer. Simply set your notebook on top of the pad, connect via USB, and it will begin to distribute air in order to keep your computer cool. It is a great choice for anyone who would like to prolong the life of his or her notebook, or simply make it comfortably cool for "lap top" use.

I have owned a half-dozen other cooling mats before the N100. Some worked well for awhile, but all of them were quite noisy. The Logitech N100 however is nearly unnoticeable it is so quiet. Not only that the general shape of the mat really does a great job at pulling the hot air out from under my laptop. Most of my previous mats were just flat across the top and just weren't as effective. Lastly, I really like that my laptop does not slip off the mat.

I bought this to go with my new Acer Aspire notebook, because I like to use it on my lap. I knew that I would be blocking the air intake vents when I did that, so I bought this pad.
It works fine, but there is one fan which is located at the center of the back of the pad, NOT where my air intake vents are on my notebook. I've used the pad rotated 180 degrees to match the fan with the air intakes, and that cools it better, but the pad is thicker in the back than the front (intentionally, so that when used correctly, the computer will be tilted slightly toward you) so that when I do that, the computer is now tilted slightly AWAY from me. Oh, well, I just raise my knees a bit more, and problem solved.
My advice: match the cooling pad you buy with the location of the air intake vents on the bottom of your laptop/netbook.
Fan noise on the N100 is not objectionable...but you can hear it faintly.

This solid cooling pad does the trick, easy to use (just plug it in to a USB slot) and cooling my netbook more than sufficiently.

Comments about Logitech Cooling Pad N100 (Green):
Nice product, cools good and really noiseless product. one must need to visually verify whether the fan is on or not.
Only negative is that there is no on/off switch and the grip on the pad for the laptop need to get bit more sticky.

prevents from overheating as a medium between lap and computer in addition to fan cooling. fan is completely silent. computer may slip forward if at an angle. little power taken from laptop.

From reading the reviews, I thought this cooling pad could solve my problems with the overheating issue of my Mac, but it didn't. The concept of having slats on the top rear and bottom is fantastic to help regulate the cooling, but it doesn't cover the entire surface so only one area is getting cooled. This product would be more convenient if the slats were across the entire surface of the pad and had two fans with a setting of speed. Does the job for basic things, but if running a movie or playing a game, the computer will run more and cause to heat up, this pad doesn't have enough power.

Air from the notebook is sent down - straight to your legs.
Only usefull while your notebook sits on the desk and then it might be too high.

I bought this along with my somewhat large Vaio FW series laptop, and it fits perfectly. It's ergonomically comfortable, easy to use, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Just plug it in to a usb input and forget about it.

I use a little Acer notebook and it can get a little hot with extended use. This cooler works perfectly for it. I can't hear it when it is running and it moves enough air to keep my unit cool and operating nicely. The vent at the rear of the unit is great because I tend to use it on my lap and the rear flow is never blocked. It is very light and uses so little "juice" that I see no impact on my battery usage.
