Just because you don't have room for a big HDTV doesn't mean you can't have big HDTV performance. The ViewSonic VT2430 Widescreen LCD HDTV may be small in size, but it delivers the goods as well as any larger set. It's a great choice for a kid's room, kitchen, den, home office, or anywhere space is at a premium.
Key to the ViewSonic's big performance is its no-compromise 1920 x 1080 full HD LCD panel. Advanced image processing and a fast 5ms video response rate combine to produce clear, detailed pictures, while the set's high 300 cd/m2 brightness and 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio generate rich, vivid colors.
You'll easily tune in local digital, HD, and standard broadcasts, courtesy of the set's integrated ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuner, in addition to programs from your cable or satellite provider.
The ViewSonic VT2430 also comes with all the inputs you'll need to enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies, digital photos and videos, and that growing collection of games for your entertainment console. There are HDMI and component jacks for your digital devices, and S-Video and composite connections for legacy equipment such as VCRs.
The VT2430 also can be used as a superb, space-saving PC monitor. Just plug your desktop or notebook PC into the 15-pin VGA jack, connect an audio cable to the monitor, and you're all set.
When you need big performance from a small-footprint HDTV/monitor, consider the ViewSonic VT2430. It delivers premium enjoyment where space is at a premium.

We use the TV everyday for the home PC monitor and secondary TV. The picture is amazing and it is very easy to use and understand. Great value for the money. Two design issues keep it from absolute greatness but they are small and easy to work around. Con #1: Remote is cheap. It is functional but buttons are tiny and design looks like an afterthought. Con #2: The headphone jack is in the rear of unit. I use this for gaming & TV and use a headset so I do not disturb anyone. I plug in the headphones. You must turn the TV around to get to the jack which is hard to do on a cluttered desk. Also, when the headphones are plugged in it automatically turns off the external speakers with no option to switch back-and-forth through the TV menus. Both of these are small considering all of the positives. Overall, I love it and would buy another one when needed.

This monitor is best suited for use as a monitor and TV combination for bedrooms. I found that all the recent PC games run clean on 1920x1200 and xbox360 HD output looks fine as well. TV function is responsive and looks good, although I don't have HDtv set up in that room so no comments on HD display quality (thought in my opinion if you're going to cough up the extra for HD service might as well spend a few bucks more on a bigger, badder display). The only problem I've encountered with this one is a function conflict with the power save mode. Basically if you leave the monitor on PC mode and leave and you have your computer display settings setup to turn off the display for power saving, the monitor will not recognize the input from the computer and you'll have to reset it. I usually turn off the monitor before heading out so its not a big deal for me, but it might to some people.

The TV is perfect size for the bedroom has every type of input jack in the back. Also very loud I got this for my sister for her room I'm a little jealous because I only have a 22 inch Samsung in my room and this thing is louder and bigger then my TV.
Also has a DVI port so you can use this as a monitor as well. Many input jacks in the back the only flaw I see is that the input jacks aren't color coded so this TV is not perfect for older adults or newbies.

Excellent price, off center viewing leaves a little to be desired but still nice. Instruction manual is a little confusing for my mom who is not tech savvy but eventually can be figured out.

Good in an office. The only annoyance is that the non HD tv channels seem to have a gray border vs a black border on left and right. Just a small issue, but otherwise nice TV for the money.

Gave this to my parents for their RV. Wanted something with low power requirements and great picture. It was a big plus that the DirecTV remote will control this tv. Overall a great tv for a great price.

It replaces a smaller TV in my home office. I hooked it up to Dish and set-up was easy. I tried different picture and audio settings and found that the defaults are best, except for a little sharpening and movie mode for audio. I have yet to try connecting it to my computer. I am quite pleased with it.

Comments about Viewsonic VT2430 24" Widescreen LCD HDTV:
Other's comments on the VT2430, to the effect that the sound is just soso, are correct, I think. I installed an Altec-Lansing PC speaker set, with the speakers upside down to broadcast under the VT2430.
I find the image when viewed at an angle is pallid, and when you realize this, you view it as headlong as you can.
The controls are great in allowing quick adjustment of screen size and proportions. The recall feature is not easy to invoke for two channels on the favorite list, because the list is addressed by moving the choice along the list, so two channels not side by side are difficult to jump between. Menu adjustment of the set is quite nice once you understand that the menu button backs you out of the situation as well. The remote control is not the most ergonomic I have encountered, with tiny buttons for popular functions, for example.
All in all I am happy and rate the set four stars.

Comments about Viewsonic VT2430 24" Widescreen LCD HDTV:
I bought this to use primarily as a computer monitor (for my laptop w/ small LCD), but liked the idea of having a TV tuner in it also so I could kick back in the evening and watch TV if my wife is watching something I don't like.
The TV tuner seems to work well. I can pull in the local channels.
The only drawback I can find is the base isn't too sturdy. As I type on my laptop, the monitor wobbles side-to-side a bit. Not the end of the world, but a little annoying.
If you are using it as a TV, you'd never see it move.

I purchased this TV for my bedroom and it is perfect for that. Great picture, easy to use. I had it set up in minutes. It does take a minute to come on but that is not really a big deal for me.
If you are looking for a TV to put in a bedroom this is a great one to have.

Comments about Viewsonic VT2430 24" Widescreen LCD HDTV:
Needed a not so big TV for our master guest room. This TV has a very nice picture and a good sound for the size of the unit. What I liked most are the different input connections; it makes it possible to hook-up the latest components like a modern DVD Player or a HD Satellite Receiver via HDMI but also the good old VCR machine to watch those lovely antique tapes. The "ZOOM" control is a little confusing to find the correct picture format matching the input signal. So I am telling my guests, depending on the input you have chosen, just press the ZOOM key on the remote control repeatedly until the picture format is right.

Comments about Viewsonic VT2430 24" Widescreen LCD HDTV:
22" too small, 26" too large ... this 24 incher is just right. And its 1080P with a great picture for analog and digital channels. It looks great with a nice gloss black frame and stand. Viewsonic has a pretty good rep providing computer monitors so the quality was above expectations. The set-up screen is a little different but once you geet to know it you'll be fine.
