Gary Fong is a lifelong photographer with a knack for innovative solutions in the lighting realm, but also dabbles with other inventions that solve photographers' problems. The Flip Cage is such a product, and is a great travelling companion for most point and shoot cameras fitting the general "deck of cards" form factor.
The Flip Cage acts as a rollbar, but also allows you to carry your point and shoot around your neck like a regular SLR thanks to its strap eyelets and 3' long included strap.
More importantly, though, the Flip Cage allows both horizontal and vertical compositions with adjustment for your tilt axis just as if you had a tabletop tripod. Weighing less than ¼ lb and adding little mass to your point and shoot, the Flip Cage is a strong candidate to come along for every vacation or evening out with friends.
Flip Cage can also do light duty as a macro shooting stand, thanks to its slot for the camera screw which allows some fore-and-aft distance adjustment with the camera facing the table and the 'roll bars' oriented as if the camera was shooting a normal vertical composition.

Comments about Gary Fong Flip Cage Tabletop Tripod for Compact Cameras (Midnight Black):
Use at the beach a lot. With the camera being attached to the tripod, we can just place it in the sand or set it down without worrying about the camera. It has removable flash diffusers and a detachable lanyard too! Used with Panasonic dmc-ts3

Comments about Gary Fong Flip Cage Tabletop Tripod for Compact Cameras (Midnight Black):
We use this for just that...a way to position our camera how we need it! This tripod comes with the flash diffusers you see in other pictures and a lanyard although they are not advertised as included(bonus!). It works well and can position the camera a lot of ways. It is very portable and sturdy for being so small. We love this accessory.

Comments about Gary Fong Flip Cage Tabletop Tripod for Compact Cameras (Midnight Black):
I got it for my daughters Lumix TS1 (ruggedized, but small) camera. The camera is just slightly too large. This is a good idea and well made, but suitable only for the smallest of cameras. Of course, putting it on such a small camera would pretty much defeat the purpose of having such a small camera.Overall I found this of negligible value.

Comments about Gary Fong Flip Cage Tabletop Tripod for Compact Cameras (Midnight Black):
Flip cage table top tripod is another great product by Gary Fong.
It protects your compact digital camera, while also it is be able to be used as a tripod.
The flaps on the front and back of the tripod is easy to removed. It also helps to take a shot while you are outdoor. Additionally, you can use it as a diffuser when you do a macro shot with your camera.
The only thing that I would like to be revised from this product is the lanyard should be able to be removed, not attached permanently.
