When I looked at the models in the $300 range, I saw sturdy well built tripods. When I saw this model, I saw the same sturdy well built quality and thought it must be mistakenly labeled for the price of [$].So it's your choice. Pay over $300 and get well built or pay [$] and get well built. This tripod is the best in this price range. I took 1 hour to make my decision and looked at every tripod on the racks from every company. I hadplanned on spending between $200 and $300 and walked out spending only [$] for the same quality. SOLD!!

This a very good..and cheap tripod..easy to carry, not heavy, easy to use, the only problem is that is that the clamps are made of plastic, but is not made to last, but to work just for a awhile, until you brought a really professional one...the 3-way head is a really cold feature.it can be uses on others tripods.

I spent a full day using this tripod to hold my Canon 5D. It took a few mintues to get used to it and get faster making adjustments, but it held up well. it's also lightweight and seemingly well built.

This was a replacement for a tripod that I ordered from B&H that had a manufacturing problem. With a few emails back and forth this unit arrived just a few days after the first one. I put it to quick use as I was headed out the door, literally, when it arrived. Unpacked the unit on site and put it to work. The tools in their own zippered pouch is a real plus. Great value.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:
I am an experienced amateur using a Canon T2i, 18-200 Sigma lens (a great lens) and a full size Canon flash. The salesman recommended this for the weight of my setup. He also showed it as the least expensive all metal legs and head tripod. It is very stable indoors and great for HD video and photos. It is easy to use. Make sure the central collar lock is tight. The pro pan head included is a huge upgrade from most 'pro-sumer' units. Onlu negative is it is a bit heavier to create the sturdiness. Definitely would buy again.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:
Great sturdy little tripod! Easy to use, solid components and feels likes its been made/influenced by one of the more premium brands.
I bought and used this while visiting NYC and id performed perfectly for the trip. I shot long exposures both day and night, with no camera shake. I also shot a lot of time-lapse with it also.
Its great for traveling as its quick to setup and pack away and also has its own shoulder bag for protection.
The only reason I gave it just 4 stars was because in order to pack it away you have to remove one head handle for it to fit in the bag (being picky, this is a little annoying) however this does not take away for its performance.

I a relatively new to DSLR photography; however, I've spent a great deal of time looking around a different products and asking pros, amateurs and enthusiasts alike about the products they use. The Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head was recommended to me by a handful of people as a good tripod for where I am and the level of use I anticipate to get out of it.
I've had it for about a week now and have used it extensively in the short period of time. Youth sports, night time balloon festival, family photos, macro shots, you name it. It's light weight and holds my Nikon D3100 quite nicely. Far superior to the tripod I originally bought at the Big Box Store. The over all mechanical performance is very solid.
I would definitely recommend this product.

Was skeptical at frist because of the low cost but was very surprised to feel the smoothness and strength. I really love the design and the control arms give you a feel that surpasses most tripods. Would highly recommend this tripod to someone looking for a less expensive tripod that still has a professional feel and sturdy build, also the carrying case is awesome!

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:
I got this as a secondary tripod because my primary is much to heavy to travel with. This came with me to Florida, fit nicely in my carry-on suitcase, and still provided the height, stability and flexibility that I need.
There was a little bit of residual joint lubricant (still is) on the head - so you have to be careful with that. And one of the legs slides out with a little more resistance than the other two, but it's not restrictive. Also - the center post is divided in two (the bottom can be screwed off for a low-profile set up). When you have it extended to maximum height and then try to pan the head, sometimes it starts unscrewing the post instead of using the head joint... which is less than desirable, but not something you can't work around. I'd still recommend.

i have a a light weigh t digital , (micro 4/3)camera, which is relatively light weight. I also have a 100 -300 mm lens for this system.I do significant wild life photography and take this system with me when I travel. The tripods foldable compact design and carrying bag is ideal when flying. It's ability to extend is excellent.
I frequewntly hike 1- 3 miles during a shoot. The ease of carrying is a definite plus.
Also, I do simple astrophotography with a wider angle lens. Again, this sytem works very well.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:
I have used this tripod a few times with my Nikon D90 and overall I'm happy with it. The legs adjust quickly with snap locks that flip up to adjust, down to lock. It comes with a quick release plate and a carry bag. I do wish the center post was geared but I knew it wasn't when I bought it. Panning is a little stiff but I don't do much panning while shooting so it's not a big deal to me. Overall it seems really stable and pretty cheap for a tripod. It comes with a 10 year warranty and Davis & Sanford is part of Tiffen.

This tripod is absolutely perfect and just what we were looking for to use for small scale video production and photography. It is light, compact, and sturdy, and feels very high quality. Came with a bag, not sure if that was mentioned. The head is very smooth as well. Great Purchase!

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:
-Solid feel
-sturdy legs
-There is only a little bend once you extend the smallest section of the leg and have the legs in the macro position
-Fluid does not exactly leak, but if you touch the head in the wrong spot you will get a tiny bit of grease on your hand.
-Performs well
Overall I'd say that this tripod is the best buy for the price. I had spent lots of time researching and had it between this, and a another tripod at a similar price range. The other just looked a little bit to small and chintzy, so I purchased this and have been very happy with it.

A little lighter than I like but an overall good product for the price. Love the head, wish they offered a quick release to attach to my other tripod w/ 1/4-20 screw. Don't care for the plastic leg locks and wish it was a little taller without extending the column.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:
The tripod itself seems a little too lightweight nor do I like the plastic leg locks. However, the 10 year warranty makes it worth a try. The FZ10 3-Way Head is VERY nice as is the quick release. Legs are not as tall as I had hoped. No manufacture spec but I estimate the height to be about 50" without the center being raised. Not recommended for the serious enthusist.
