The Benro C-158M8 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs is lightweight and high-quality using 8x Carbon Fiber technology for its leg construction. It is augmented with the inclusion of components constructed of magnesium which makes the tripod lighter and stronger than its M6-series predecessor.
C-series tripods feature individual leg angle adjustments, a reversible center column with spring-loaded weight hook, foam leg grips, anti dust and moisture rubber leg lock grips, reversible 1/4-20 to 3/8" mounting threads, a compass and bubble level, and mounting set screws.

It's leight, it's farily compact and feels sturdy. At first it seem to light to hold 17 lbs but once it set up the camera stays in place. I'm using my Manfrotto grip head with it, i could get even more compact with a smaller ball head. Shoudl be great for travel where size and space are a concern. Depending on the camera you shoot I would consider a more heavy duty tripod rated at over 25 lbs. I have an old Bogan 3001 and it weights twice this one and is no more stable.

Comments about Benro C-158M8 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs - Supports 17.6 lbs (8 kg):
After years of lugging a larger, much heavier tripod around I decided to look into a carbon fiber one. After researching the web, I found a number of posts recommending Benro (which I hadn't heard of). I looked at the well known brands like Gitzo, Manfrotto, and others and, after considering price and specifications decided on the Benro. I'm totally delighted with it! It comes as advertised, including things that are extras for other tripods: a nice carry case, all tools, spiked and rubber feet, a level and a weight hook on the center post. Fit and finish is great! Tripod legs aren't useful without a head so I also bought the B1 ball head (also great) and the tripod with head fits in the bag - a nice feature. Overall a great buy!!

Comments about Benro C-158M8 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs - Supports 17.6 lbs (8 kg):
This is a very good tripod for the money. It is extremely light, it feels high-quality, the tension on the grips and adjustments is just right, and it collapses down to quite a manageable size. Other things I appreciate are the high-quality case it comes with (which was sized to fit not just the tripod but a ballhead base and attachment--a nice touch); the ability to adjust the legs outward to get the base height lower even when fully extended; the replaceable feet (and yes it comes with both rubber and steel spike feet); the inclusion of all necessary tools to adjust it; a hook under the center column for hanging additional weight; and the addition of a soft grip on one of the top sections (an extra cost on all the other ones I looked at). All in all it's quick to set up, sturdy, light, and feature-rich, and the nice touches made me feel like these guys want to be seen as a real leader in the space.
Overall, for about 1/3 of the price of a Gitzo, I got a tripod that compares favorably and I saved close to $400. Pretty good!
