Benro MC-98M8 8X Carbon Fiber 5-Section Monopod
The Benro MC-98M8 8x Carbon Fiber Monopod offers the ultimate in strength, lightweight, fast-action, and reliable performance. It uses 8-layer, 2nd generation carbon fiber technology for its leg construction. This 8x tubing is 60% stronger overall than conventional carbon fiber tripods. This is achieved by using more fibers and less epoxy in the manufacturing blend.
This monopod features a fold out tripod at its base, for added support and stability. This allows the monopod to be used with much heavier weight loads.
Additionally, all M8 series monopods feature a closed cell foam grip that acts as an insulator, adding comfort.
- Improved rubber dust-resistant leg lock design prevents dust or moisture from entering the interior of the twist-locks.
- Foam grip on top leg section improves handling in extreme weather conditions.
- A handy hand strap is incorporated into the monopod.
- The three set screws in the camera platform can be used to permanently secure the head to the tripod, providing additional security.
- Rubber leg tip provides a secure grip, both indoors and outdoors.

Tall like I needed and very sturdy. You hardly have to twist it at all to tighten or release it. The fold out feet are great and much more usefull than I expected.
The only thing I dislike is how the fold out legs rattle when they arent folded out. I am going to buy some little rubber things to put on them and make sure they are glued on well to see if that works. For now I have been wadding up tissue on the end when I dont want it to rattle (which you can get out if it gets stuck by detaching the last section easily).

Okay so this has to be the best design ever and the price you can't be. Here's my reasons why:
I am 6'4" and it's not that fun having a monopod thats tall enough. This monopod adjusts to be taller then me, and it is so light still. Super impressed.
The best part is the three legs that pop out of the bottom to act as a mini tripod. Yes it can sway but if you use a remote trigger you can take a long exposure no problem and no shake.
This is a wicked travel companion.

Use with SLR and big lenses. Also use it with an Olympus micro 4/3 and is light but very strong. Can carry on the airline, very compact size and could handle about any weight equipment you can put on it! The grip is good, locks with 1/4 turn and the individual elements do not twist, makimg it much faster to extend/ collaps and lock. Love it!
