This is a very reasonably priced system.
I saw another group using these lights for makeup demos and decided to purchase for our rental department.
They are a little fragile, but a good case and care will keep these in good shape.

I needed lights for photographing some products and making training videos. I don't know anything about proper photography, but I know technology and hardware. I did some research and since this light set was almost the lowest price for what it offered I expected it to be cheezy junk... I was very happily surprised. This light set is solidly built with some very nice details which make it easy to use. The stands have nice positive locking hardware, the light fixtures themselves are very solid and covered in a nice rubbery finish, the bulbs were included, the power cords are nice and long and are actually RUBBER, not that stiff PVC stuff. The adjustments for the light angle have detents so when you find the angle you want it holds it tight with little pressure to tighten the knob and ZERO slipping. I seriously can't say enough good things about these lights. I saw some reviews where people said the bulbs lasted an hour. I am only on 3 hours, but they are still going. Time will tell on that. I guess the umbrellas are the least robust parts of the package but they don't show any signs of failing. I highly recommend this kit.

Easy to assemble, but be careful disassembling as parts become hot very quickly. Wish the umbrella pole came with some type of stopper to keep it from falling out of the stand, but otherwise an excellent value for amateur photo/video.

Im a makeup artist and im using it to have better lighting in the room and it works excellent and it gives out a perfect lighting... And about the heat that it gives out we open the air condition 10 minutes before using it and the room stays cool.

Finally! After trying a bunch of new super huge compact fluorescent studio lights, I went back to good old tungsten, and man, was it worth it! These lights are easy to set up and break down, don't weigh a ton and actually *gasp* throw light! I'd highly recommend these as an economical way to get bright but soft lighting into any indoor situation.

We have a small studio used for shooting products. We added these two lights and our results improved greatly.
These lights appear to be constructed well and fit our needs perfectly.

I'm using these lights for independent film production with HDSLRs.

The construction is surprisingly solid for the cost, the stands would be useful with other light kits, and the lights tighten in place very solidly.

The exception to this are the soft-box umbrellas, they are larger than they appear in the pictures, and I'm sure they will last for a while, but they feel cheaper and more fragile compared to the rest of the gear.

They burn VERY hot, so be careful in that respect.

They are also not exceptionally portable compared to other light kits.

I've used this light kit several times so far for indoor portraits and a charity fashion show. I find that continuous lighting is a great first kit for photographers that aren't experienced in lighting equipment. Haven't had a problem so far with durability thought a case would have been nice for transporting. The light stands are pretty secure if you make sure that the base is as wide as possible.

We needed a simple lighting kit for video case studies and this kit provided us with great soft light. The setup was easy and we were ready to roll right out of the box. I recommend this kit when price is key and you have a need for portrait style video.

This is a decent tungsten kit. A case or rolling bag would be a plus. The bulbs are rated for a limited number of hours, and are the fragile part of the kit. Might be worth keeping spares on hand.[...] Turned out to be a great solution, an inexpensive too. Client is thrilled with the results.Negatives: the reflectors are designed to lock into the sockets, but you can't do that because the hole for the umbrella will not line up if you do. Someone really wasn't thinking.
