The Interfit Strobies Portrait Kit is a collection of light-shaping devices for your on-camera flash. When combined with an optional Flex Mount, these devices can soften, disperse, collect, or confine the light emitted from your flash. This kit is a very useful tool for any studio or location photographer.
Flex Mounts are required, and are available separately for most current on-camera flashes from Nikon, Canon, Sony and Vivitar.

In a nutshell it's a mini portable strobist's studio kit. A go anywhere solution for smaller shoots.
The only problem that I have noticed is a feint ringlight/cast affect from the Beauty Dish, but this can be sorted by adding a small piece of diffuser paper where it connects to the flexi-mount - so really no big problem here.
Another great feature about this little kit is that if you want to use it with other strobe systems, then you just need to buy a new Flex Mount to suit!
By the way and as I discovered; The Strobies InterFit INSGM400/SGM400 Flex Mount fits the Sony HVLF58AM Flash.

Many of the items in this kit are useful and well-built. Items were more bulky than expected and it would have been nice if some collapsed into smaller more portable forms. The kit doesn't come with the adapter but given the variety of flash units out there maybe this makes sense. The soft box can only be set up on the adapter you buy, but since it's kind of difficult to put together it it almost makes sense to buy a dedicated adapter for this accessory if you plan to use it a lot.

This kit allows me to create better photographs of people with small speedlights. The modifiers are easy to use. The assembly of the softbox requires a little practice but is fairly straightforward after that. The instructions could use a little improvement but I was able to work things out.

Comments about Interfit STR100 Strobies Portrait Kit:
I haven't had this kit long enough to use everything, but overall it's a reasonable deal. Some of the components are a bit flimsy or cheap, but getting all these things in one kit is a pretty good deal.
One thing to consider is that you don't ever want to have to break down and then re-assemble the softbox (it's a huge pain), so you are going to need to get a dedicated flex mount just for that (the flex mount holds it together).
The flex mounts aren't the greatest way of attaching components to your flash, but it does work. I ended up getting extra flex mounts so that I could use more than one piece at a time.

I am a photography major, as well as a for hire photog. I use this kit in my classes for studio work as well as on location lighting.
So far this kit has been of great service and value. It is a low cost entry into creative lighting with a variety of tools, all commonly used in photography lighting. It is lightweight, durable, user friendly, and efficient.
This kit is not without its draw backs however. It is primarily made of plastic. Removal of tools from the mount requires some care as it takes a little force, and the mounting clips are plastic.(spare clips are included)I have not broken one yet though. The kit does not come with any type of carrying bag, which would be great( I use A backpack). As stated in other reviews, the soft box can require some finnesse to assemble, and when installed on a flash sometimes pulls the flex mount off the flash when shooting handheld. I have not had a problem when the flash is mounted to a light stand, even with angled lighting.
Overall, this kit is a good basic entry into lighting with hot shoe flash. It is not perfect, but the cons are small at worst and easily overcome by even the newest photographer.
*** you will need to purchase a flex mount for each flash to use use multiple accessories at one time*****

Only just beginning to use these items. They provide a lot of flexibility to my two Can 580EX II flash units. Wish the set came with some sort of carrier for all of these items. Still trying to sort out a good way to transport the set.

I haven't used everything yet, but the softbox, globe diffuser and barn doors were worth the price alone.
The only bad thing is the globe is pretty big and somewhat a hassle to haul around.

Comments about Interfit STR100 Strobies Portrait Kit:
This is such a pain to use! I was excited to use the softbox but gave it up because it wouldn't stay on my flash (SB800) all that well. It kept falling off - quite embarassing when you're doing a shoot. If I was in a studio, this might work but if you're out and about, the softbox mainly was a hassle to use. Plus the instruction sheet that came with it was not all that great. I had to figure out how to put together the softbox and once I did, I never took it apart because it was such a pain. Personally, I wish I gathered more research about this purchase. This was to me, not a good investment. Great to hear others liked it but I didn't.

A useful set of tools for a small studio, however I bought this kit for on-site shooting. Bottom line is that the flash Canon 380EX in this case does not stay on the "flex mount". Even after using tie wraps to secure the mount to the flash, the soft box fell off into the sand on a beach shoot. The other attachments may stay on in a controlled environment, but overall, not to happy with this purchase.

I just started a new studio and this product has just amazed me with it's design and versatility. I was working on some lighting in my studio and found that most of the attachments will fit on my alien bee light units. So not only are they nice for my on camera flash but also give me added capabilities in the studio either on my flash or my strobes.

the only reason this kit got 4 stars and not 5 is because the flex mount adapter is aweful... they need to redesign the flex mount. Otherwise this kit is amazing.... oh and it could use a cary case

I am a wedding Photographer. I got the kit to give me some different lighting at weddings I can use the soft box. I love it kit but I had to buy an extra converter for my kit because I found that the time it takes to change from the soft box to any of the other lights takes way to mush time. So for weddings you might want to do the same as I did. and if you shoot auto any at your weddings the soft box will miss with you metering because it is so big it covers the front of you flash and it can't get a good reading. that is why I had to give it 4 stars not 5, but I wouldn't do a wedding with out it now.

It's really incovenient to haul around. The softbox was a pain to put together (by the way, they can make improvements on the instructions as well) and when I did, I never wanted to break it apart and it doesn't stay on...it always comes off. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it stay on my flash! Suggestions greatly appreciated!
Other than that it gives you tons of options to be creative with your flash! Enough options that I have not had a chance to play with the rest of attachments...

The versatility the product offers is outstanding and effective.
Disappointed in the flash attachment (580EX). The flash attachment is not sufficient to secure and hold the attachments. The weight of attachments like the beauty ring and soft box will fall off the flash during use. A better way to secure the attachments is a must.

So many toys to learn how to use. The mini soft box has been my go to attachment so far. All items are fairly sturdy and ez to attach/use on the flex mount.
