The Interfit INT492 Hot Shoe and Strobe Flash Trigger Set is ideal for mounting hot shoe flashes onto light stands.
Standard shoe mount flash units can be mounted directly onto the integral hot shoe, which also provides the triggering power to the flash. Studio strobes may be fired from the PC Sync terminal on the side of the receiver.
Four channels provide enough isolation from most other radio frequencies and enable you to work on a "closed" system. The unit is powered by long life batteries and works on 433MHz at a distance of up to 100' (30 m) in an open area.
Note:Sony/Minolta flashes require #STRE114 to operate with this trigger set

This is a no-frills wireless solution that is easy to use. The best part is that it will work with most hot shoe flash guns even without the proper plug. My SB800 nor the Vivitar 283 have a compatible plug but both work by simply slipping it on the hotshoe of the reciever. The 1/4 inch adapter works with studio strobes as well. I purchased two sets and have 2 recievers and 2 transmitters.
one transmitter on the camers hot shoe and one to handhold to trigger the recievers for metering. The transmitter has a test button to trigger the recievers. They have no provisions for transmitting TTL data to flashguns but don't carry the price tag either.
For a low cost wireless solution to off camera flash use they are worth looking into.

I've used these with my Canon 5d and 580exII at home and on a press trip to the southwest and found them to trigger dependably, but then, I've only owned them a short time and haven't tried to fire with them in an environment heavy with other radio-control signals. The receiver seems like it's going to fall off its weak little mount, barely supporting a meaty Speedlight like the 580. I don't recommend using these if you're clamping your flash onto a moving object or mounting it to a lightstand in the wind, but they should be sufficient for home and studio use. Otherwise, you might need to do some kind of jury rigging to keep your equipment safe.

Comments about Interfit INT492 Hot Shoe and Strobe Flash Trigger Set:
It works great. I'm using a Canon T1i and a Vivitar Flash. I've done 3 shoot with it already and all have been a success. The only problem is that the build is extremely cheap. While moving the flash/tripod/receiver, the battery back fell off. Both pieces feel like toys, but preform well.

Comments about Interfit INT492 Hot Shoe and Strobe Flash Trigger Set:
The Interfit Hot Shoe and Strobe Flash Trigger set is a good introduction into the remote flash market. I am currently using these both as a remote flash and a way to use my older Vivitar 283 with my Pentax K-r digital camera. The 283 has an output voltage way higher than the camera can handle and this trigger set negates this problem. My only concern with this item is the relatively weak construction. The set screw that should allow you to angle the receiver for tilt is just a bolt and nut on the plastic housing of the receiver and is not very sturdy. I would suggest using the receiver via a sync cord and mounting the flash to a light stand on its own.

They work every time all the time. Only do I wish the receiver was built horizontally. Good overall product especially for the price!

Comments about Interfit INT492 Hot Shoe and Strobe Flash Trigger Set:
Yes, it's cheaply made, and forget about TTL, but it works on both hot shoe flashes and strobes.
Don't know what the transmitter's battery life will be. It may be a pain to find/replace it.
It lets you get that flash off the camera or unplug the camera from the strobe.

Bought this to start some studio work. Will replace when budget allows, but it does the job it needs to do.

Bought to fire my AC strobes so I could lose the cable. Works just like it was designed to do.

Got this product a day before an important wedding shoot. attached to an Excalibur 3200 at 30 yards from my shooting position and the tranmitter via a "sony to standard shoe mount adapter"...it never skipped....same with outdoor shoot. I am ready to buy a new set and two more receiver to complete my gear. this is absolutely a must have product.

Tried them out on a location shoot with a Nikon D70 and a Pentax flash. No misfires at all. The weak link is that they are not sturdily built.

I'm using it in a smallish studio and haven't had a problem triggering the flash. The only time it won't go off is when the flash batteries haven't recharged, but that's not due to the trigger set. I love it and it's a great way to start off before purchasing big buck items.

I have studio equipment but every time I need to work on location it´s a big problem to move all the things and find AC to work. Now I´m using litle strobes that I can carry anyware with out the electricity issue. And here is when this litle flash trigger comes in. It´s very easy to use, it triggers from 25 to 30 meters away and also works with my studio ligths.
And the price..... on any budget.

I received the INT 492 radio trigger a week ago and have used it in two sessions in my basement studio. It was simple to set up and works as advertised. It's not an exciting product, but it fills a need. It has not failed to operate yet, which is an improvement on the IR trigger I was using before.

Larger speedlites don't feel secure/safe when mounted. If you are looking for an inexpensive wireless fix up to 500 SQ FT. Occasionally experienced triggering inconsistencies.
