The Interfit Cooltubz 6 Fluorescent Fixture provides near-daylight balanced light. This fixture is cool-running, making it ideal for photographing people or food. The light emitted is flicker-free, which also makes it ideal for video applications.
Each included 55 Watt Osram Deluxe fluorescent tube puts out the equivalent of 220 watts of tungsten light. Dimming is achieved with the use of 3 rear panel switches which each control a pair of tubes. The advantage of switch-dimming over dial dimming, is that there is no color shift towards magenta using switches.

Comments about Interfit Cooltubz 6 Dimmable Fluorescent Light Panel (120 V AC):
Just returned from a trade show. We did video interviews on the show floor with this light on a rolling lightstand listed below. This lamp is affordable, took a beating, (it got knocked over once in the studio and survived, not a recommended practice) and provides a lot of diffuse white light. A second rig is on the wishlist. Keep a phillips screw driver in the bag, the screws holding the reflectors get lose from time to time.
The ID bracket on my Cooltubz 4 was undersize and did not fit properly on a light stand peg. I have access to machine shop tooling and fixed the problem with a ream.
This lamp is transportable. The reflection flaps fold over the lamps and protect them. It comes with a carry case that has pockets for the reflector corners and lost of room for extension cords. It is a small package when folded up. Remove the bottom bracket when transporting or it will put a hole in the carry bag.
As others have mentioned, its light and the build quality is reflected in the price. It is functional and a great value. It runs cool and does not require a lot of power to provide a lot of illumination.

Comments about Interfit Cooltubz 6 Dimmable Fluorescent Light Panel (120 V AC):
The price is great, almost too good to be true. I do not recommend this fixture, if you can't afford anything else then get it but if you're on the fence about buying it because of it's cheap cost DONT. It's very cheaply made and the plastic locks for keeping in the bulbs fit on so tight they've already cracked two bulbs. I already lost $40 because of the design while replacing bulbs. The mount is very top heavy and the locking mechanism is not secure. It's not a good sign when you walk away from setting up a light and are trying to avoid tipping it over. Again to me, it's not worth the low price.

Comments about Interfit Cooltubz 6 Dimmable Fluorescent Light Panel (120 V AC):
I converted my entire studio to 55K fluorescent lighting and this kit was an inexpensive alternative to Kino-Flo lights because it would still accept the Kino Flo bulbs. However, the unit is really flimsy. I feel like it's going to fall off the stand and that the barn doors are going to rip off. It's unbalanced and top heavy. Also, I busted two of my Kino Flo bulbs trying to lock them into this unit with the cheap plastic locks. Works, but be careful with it.

Comments about Interfit Cooltubz 6 Dimmable Fluorescent Light Panel (120 V AC):
The light quality is nice. Very bright and even. Nice efficient design. But the unit's stand mount is very flimsy. Also, the rivets that hold the barn doors to the unit are inadequate. The barnvdoors broke off immediately the first time I turned it on [...]Not sure if I'm ordering another. I like the quality of its light but fear the weak design points will cause problems later. Too bad. It could really be a great light. I would order several if not for the flimsy mount and inadequate rivets.

Comments about Interfit Cooltubz 6 Dimmable Fluorescent Light Panel (120 V AC):
I am used to carrying around 5 or 6 lights, but this one is almost good enough by itself. Very bright, yet dimmable via switches. With the softbox on it becomes diffuse enough to light both a subject and a backdrop. I didn't realize this, but it comes with a very nice, durable soft carrying case.
Just 2 things to think about: the mounting bracket that mounts the light to a stand seems a little flimsy for the weight of the light - no problems yet, but we'll see. Also, this will not mount on an economy stand - you need either a very heavy duty light stand or a C-Stand. I'm using the C-Stand and it is rock solid.
