This Interfit EXD400 Two Monolight Umbrella-Softbox Kit includes two 400 watt/second monolights with reflectors, a 36" translucent umbrella, 24" square softbox, 8' air cushioned light stands, power and sync cords.
The EXD400 has a bright, easily-read digital rear control panel which indicates flash and modeling lamp power levels in 1/10 stop increments. User-friendly push button controls and switches allow the choice of audible or silent recycling as well as Proportional or Full Power modeling lamp settings. The lamp and the flash tube are conveniently user-replaceable. Fan cooling ensures that the flash capacitors and associated circuitry are at optimal working temperature even during periods of prolonged use.
The rapid 1.5 second recycling time ensures that you'll be ready to catch every fleeting gesture, a quality especially valuable in portraiture or fashion.
Versatility drives the design of the EXD400, which features wired sync, wireless IR and optical flash triggering. There is even a pre-flash setting for syncing with compact cameras.

I am a high school student who isn't even taking a professional photo class, but I still found use for these lights. They are easily to operate and handle, not too heavy, and include many features that are only found on much more expensive ones. Fast recycle, has a great padded case, also very well made[...]. For a student such as myself, these are the best choice at B+H for features/price. Feel solid, high quality, but, thinking back, I might have done better with a good zoom lens for my situation because, be aware, these are heavy and big enough to not allow them to be moved around. But if you want to get lighting, this is for you. Everything included (even 2 sync cables which are pretty long, as are the power cords). NOTE!! Stands are wobbly at 6 ft and up, so get something to secure them and be VERY careful, and don't ever rush when setting these up.

I am a photography student and bought these lights as a requirement for school. I was happy at first, but it didn't last long. After only a few uses, the flash tube burned out on one of the heads. I tried to find a replacement tube, but couldn't find any information on the correct one. I called Interfit and got the product code for the replacement. However, no one carried this particular flash tube, so I was stuck with a useless light. B&H has offered me store credit to return the lights, minus a restocking fee.

I already had Interfit lights, but had to have these for my photography classes. I am, as with all my Interfit products, very pleased with them.

This product is great for any photographer! It was easy to set up right out of the box. I use this for all my studio photographs. My favorite feature is how much I can adjust the light intensity. Haven't found anything bad about it yet.

Comments about Interfit EXD400 Softbox/Umbrella Kit:
Great Carry Bag included in the kit which is not listed on the product menu. Rubberized moonlight housing help to protect the bulb from breaking out and avoiding scratches. The soft box is not that good match for this kit. Takes to long to set up and is not practical if you are using as a mobile set. This kit needs better soft box.

Comments about Interfit EXD400 Softbox/Umbrella Kit:
Update. Used these lights at a company's anniversary function where quality was required and after shooting over 400 shots they never misfired. They are very very powerful because i used them between 55-70watts and they lit up the clients as much as 4 persons like a Christmas tree. N.B Two photographers using 1 monolight kit each and a speedlight with reflector/shoot tru umbrella.Just remember to use a larger softbox for half or full body shots. The built in fan keep the lights as cool as a cucumber for the entire evening. (something i was worried about). They may not be made of aircraft material but it's affordable and powerful enough to get the job done.

Tested one of these lights today using impact power sync 16 and it worked every time.Softbox easy to setup ,didn't need instructions.Light stand and light, easy and quick setup.Don't know why people complain about no instructions, use your common sense or go online (youtube).
Will update feedback on this product after my first job with it on April 1st.

I read reviews, and this kit was recommended as this was to be my first lighting kit. Unfortunately I was not happy with it [...] At times the flash did not go off, the sync cord wouldn't stay plugged into my camera, and the kit did not come with instructions.
