I now own two of these Westcott Illuminator Arms, and I love them! I use them for holding reflectors, diffusers, and collapsible backgrounds. I've found them to be a valuable addition to my "go bag" for on-location shooting, as well as in studio settings.

The telescoping elements work just like a light stand or tripod leg, and the rotating base allows for a full 3-axis placement of the supported reflector.

Simple and well-constructed. A must-have for anyone doing on-location shooting!

I use this when shooting natural light head shots without an assistant. Lightweight and fast set up. You'll still want to keep a sandbag or some weight handy because the arm and reflector can still over balance your lightstand with even a little wind.

I bought this because I got tired of finding someone to hold a disc for me, they get distracted and the disc always gets out of position.

With the Illuminator Arm by Westcott, it will hold the reflector exactly where I want it, the reflector clamps are quick and positive (although I have not figure out if they sell replacements, or how to replace them in-case these plastic adapters snaps!)

I find the twin ball-joint are clamped down with one lever, so you can't independently adjust the tensions. Mine came a bit tight, but it was easy to adjust the lock-nut.

Overall I like the built quality and the ability to telescope to 60", although I wonder how well it hold a 60" reflector.

I am happy with the illuminator arm. It is extremely helpful when it comes to holding reflectors and on our c stands. I do wish it had included a double ended spigot but I felt like we got a good price with B&H so I can't complain.

It's a great arm for holding your flexfill in any position imaginable. It is much quicker than messing with grip clips and c-arms of finding the right angle and holding it. I preferred the old design of the catches that hold the flixfill. They were easier to operate, but it's still easier than any other alternative I've used. The ball joint of one I got from B&H was very stiff, but a little WD40 fixed that quickly, and it works well.

I love love love the illuminator arm. It holds my reflector exactly where I want it and is super easy to adjust. I have an interfit lightstand and it fits well- it looks like the little bit of wobble near the connection is totally the lightstand. I use two sandbags to keep things sturdy. The clips on the arm hold my interfit reflectors just fine.

The metal tubing turned out to be more sturdy than I expected. Other than setting it up to try it, I haven't used it much yet. The clips that connect to the reflector look like they might be a good compromise between holding the reflector firmly, yet maybe letting it go in high wind which would prevent the whole stand from going over (depending on stand anchoring/weight). Haven't had a chance to try it, so it is only a hypothesis.

I was looking for a support arm that would enable me some flexibility in setting up of my Westcott reflector(s) and be of good enough quality to last for many years of use. This product was the perfect fit for me. Solid, easy to use and very adaptable as to changing angles by twisting the reflector as needed.

I use this in my portrait photography to hold a collapsible reflector. This arm is really great because you can adjust it to shape the reflector, (potato chip it), any way you want.

I used one for decades. ordered a 2nd to use outdoors and the dealer sent a Bogen. The reflector kept falling off! Drove me nuts. I sent back the Bogen arm to get another Wescott.I now have 3. One I use in studio, and two I use outdoors. I leave one on each side of the studio so I don't have to carry it around.I recommend this brand/unit highly.[@]35 year pro

This is my first one of these things. And I think that it works fine. The ball joints are really tight and sometimes hard to adjust, but I think that's better then being too loose. It's really light weight, but seems to be quality. I love all the different positions that it can go into. But it does need constant readjusting because of wind or the weight of my reflector.... but I've only used it once so far. So maybe I'm the one that needs more practice with it.

I bought this arm at the same time I bought their 6 in 1 42" Illuminator Reflector Kit. I'm glad I did, it's a perfect match.

Very easy to manipulate and position. Seems to be durable and very secure in holding my reflector in place.
