With this Digital Foci Portable 8" Digital Photo Book you now have easy access to your photos - you can take them along anywhere. Its soft leather-like case presents an attractive initial impression and is ideal for passing around while sitting on a living room sofa or at a business presentation.
Load photos to the album's internal memory directly from a memory card or USB flash drive. Supported memory cards include CF, SD, SDHC, MMC, xD-Picture Card, Memory Stick, and MSPRO. In addition, you can connect the Photo Book to your computer with a USB cord in-order to transfer photos, videos, and music.
Photo Book lets you organize your photos into different albums and choose a specific album to view. The "Photo Album View" displays each folder as a separate photo album, showing its folder name and a preview image of the first photo in the album. "Photo Thumbnail View" lets you browse through the thumbnails of the photos in a selected photo album. In addition to running a full screen photo slideshow with adjustable time intervals, you also have the option of running the slideshow with an elegant page-turning effect, just like you were flipping through an actual photo album. You can also add music to play in the background along with your slideshow.
Photo Book supports RAW images from a wide selection of DSLRs, in addition to JPEG, BMP, GIF, and TIF image formats. Photographers can organize their photos into different collections, and choose a specific collection to show depending on their audience. Photos are automatically rotated to their correct orientation based on the EXIF data captured by the camera, and can also be zoomed, panned, and rotated. The album runs on a lithium-polymer battery with approximately 2.5 hours of battery life. Easily recharge the battery with the included AC adapter or with USB power by connecting it to your computer.

This is an excellent piece of equipment. It is very comfortable to transport and use in displaying photos to friends. The image is crystal clear, very bright and large enough to see without having to put reading glasses on. There are just a few buttons, but they provide a way to easily navigate to the pictures you want. Transfering pictures to the album is intuitive and a pretty quick process.
Although I don't put music to my photos, I would think people that want to do this would require a bit more flexibility in terms of being able to synchronize music with pictures. Just a personal preference, but I would rather see words to define buttons and screen selections instead of icons.
This product was well worth the money. It has performed beyond my expectations. High quality, convenience in use, and user friendly operation all in one product is hard to beat. - Patrick

Used the photo book to store years of vacation pictures. The 4GB interal memory was the biggest I was able to find. The digital photo book however lacks useful features offered in less expensive models. Size of photo frame should be 10" instead of 8". A remote control should be included with the unit for the price. This unit does not offer a clock and calendar mode.I would rate this unit as average to a little below average.

The only thing i dont like about this product is the resolution. I was looking for something that would look as good as a printed picture. But other then that, Its the perfect tool to share your photos on the go. And for the money you wont find a better way to share your pics.

Ordered this item and it arrived D.O.A. Saw one demonstrated on the web and it looked great. Unsure about durability though.

I use it first to show my pictures to friends and family
But I use it also to look at recently taken pictures: inserting the flashcard in the viewer gives me an opportunity to see a large size image before I decide to keep or erase a picture when the flash card is full and I need to make place for more pictures...

I belong to a photo club and wanted some way to show my pictures without printing them. I purchased this photo album because of the large 8 inch screen and the 2 1/2 hour battery life. It was a rousing success at the last meeting and I am sure there are several people that will also purchase this album. The 4 GB storage will provide me enough space to store lots of images and be used as a backup storage to my SDHC cards. When downloading directly from the cards, it does so without any problems and also was able to display my NEF files. When hooked to my computer via USB cable downloads were extremely fast while acting like a second storage device. I liked being able to put individual images into individual albums. Also, if you put a digital music file it played whenever you started that album. One thing I did learn was that changing the color space to SRGB gave the digital JPEG images a much brighter image more to what the scene actually looked at. In addition, making the images no larger than 2000 Mega pixels still produced good quality with an excellent looking picture. The bigger the image the slower the device changed from one image to another so I kept them at 2000 or less.

Planning a short trip to D.C. this summer and I wanted a device that would fit in my new backpack that would let me view the photos of the day and then clear the card for the next day's shots. Laptop's too large and didn't want to get an iPad. FOCI Digital Photo Book 8" is exactly what I needed. Takes my CF cards, and all other types, or can be plugged directly into the camera. Plenty of storage so I can shoot for several days and download the photos, edit out the ones I don't want to keep, clear the card and I'm ready for the next day. Choice of "themes" is limited, but that doesn't matter to me. Has to be viewed straight on, unlike a desktop monitor or laptop, but again that's ok for my purposes. User friendly and inexpensive.

I ordered this for Christmas for my daughter. It was a HUGE disappointment. After charging it for 10 hours, the book was completely worthless: it wouldn't turn on (or off for that matter); it was, in a word TOTALLY DEAD. [...] i am hopeful the replacement album will be great... Stay tuned.

Bought this for my 70+ year-old mother who is an artist but not computer savvy. I set it up for her and easily loaded it with photos from my computer. She was thrilled to see photos of her artwork on the photo book. I found it easy to use, good capacity, plenty of options, display is nice, and much better functionality than the digital frames I had been looking at. I would buy another one as a gift if the opportunity comes up.

We love it so much, we showed it to my mom & dad and my sister & brother-in-law and they went home and each ordered their own. My parents are not savy with electronics and they figured out how to use it quickly.

This has been ideal for showing progress on my husband's restoration of a 1951 Ford convertible. I downloaded the owners manual from on-line since the quick start instructions are not all that inclusive. It's a little cumbersome but it fits into a large purse. The photo display is large and well lit. The only draw back is that you need to be directly in front to see well. Viewing from the side doesn't work real well unless you're looking directly over someone's shoulder. Short movie clips also work well. So far the over 2 hours of battery life on one charge has been very adequate. We have been pleased with this album. I can not think of any bad things about it.

I purchased the photo book for home use to display some of my better photography. It is really easy to load pictures and view after loading. this product was long overdue on the market. My only complaint is that the resolution could be a little higher.

I was looking for something to replace my large portfolio for showing samples of my work. I found it in the 8" Photo Book.
I don't use the music option and also don't download directly into the book. I use an SD card to store my images and just leave it in the card slot. It will display as many images that your card can hold.
Perfect for my use.

Good for showing personal pictures without having to print them out. Must download pictures in this unit in files specific to the file, otherwise they are randomly duplicated confusing the issue.
Maybe I just need to get to know the unit better.

I am a photographer and a biker, it is a very nice size to toss in my saddle bag, I use it as my portfolio, it's easy to use, maybe a little hard to see in direct sun light. It works for me.
