My Imac and Macbook Pro only have 2 USB ports which can be a pain since I use a ton of digital electronics and need to constantly switch out the cables. The Mini-hub has worked really well and I'm able ot connect my video camera, digital voice recorder, projector and additional hard drive at the same time. Brilliant.
The only drawbacks are that the cord is a wee short. I would have preferred the hub to have a longer cord so I could have more play with where all my connecting equipment are located. And the connection port is just a tad bit loose. It stays in, but I can move around too crazy like.
For the price...it's great.

I was looking for a small portable USB hub for my Dell mini notebook and thought this would work for me as I have used other Belkin products. Unfortunately it does not work uniformly with all my USB devices.
I do a lot of mobile audio visual projects and have portable external drives. Some connect properly with this device and others don't which of course is a problem.
The size and price of the hub are great but reliability is somewhat random in my case hence the two star rating.
The drives I mentioned do not need additional power when connected directly to PC. Single USB connections suffice so the same is required in the hub.

Overall - good product[...]All connected devices powerup with the pc. Not sure whether it charges devices when the PC is in Sleep Mode - I cant seem to do that with the PC directly.
