Works as Needed
I bought this router to replace a WPN824v3 router that was plagued with stability issues. While I've since fixed the old router, I've kept the WNR2000 for a couple of reasons.
I bought this router to replace a WPN824v3 router that was plagued with stability issues. While I've since fixed the old router, I've kept the WNR2000 for a couple of reasons.
1) It's reliable. The wifi signal has not dropped as it did with the older WPN. I have not needed to power cycle the router once since installing it. Granted, I'm not using the Wireless-N connection. Given that it's a draft standard, **I'd expect spotty support for non NETGEAR Wireless-N adapters.**
2) It's powerful. The apartment I live in is approximately 750 sq ft. The older WPN router used to have weaker signal (70-80 dBm) in the far corners of my apartment. This router has strong coverage (40-50 dBm) throughout.
3) It's handsome. Yeah, I know a router is simply a router, but this thing seriously does look nicer than my old WPN. It's small, unassuming, and unobtrusive. No flashy LED's or other such nonsense.
4) It's hackable. The NETGEAR firmware allows the setup of WPA2 encryption, access control, and most anything else the user needs. However, the WNR2000 supports DD-WRT, and other alternative firmware.
I really don't like how the router tries to force you to use a setup CD, but that's par for the course with these routers. If you're looking for a solid wireless-N router for things like your Blu-Ray player or game console, you might want to look elsewhere. For most people, however, this should suffice.

Comments about Netgear Wireless-N Router:
I looked through all of the reviews for weeks. I had a hard time choosing. When I finally made up my mind I chose Netgear's N300. Works great just as promised in the reviews. Setup in minutes and just gives me continous service. I recommend this router.

Comments about Netgear Wireless-N Router:
B&H best store ever to sell computer peripherals. This item is truly useless. The set up is long, painful, and too complex for a n300 router. I am extremely competent in computer set up and configuration, unfortunately it is no help with this item. Not only is set up a terrible nightmare, the range is worse and the speed is identical to my old g router by netgear. Do not waste the money or TIME.

Comments about Netgear Wireless-N Router:
Router works lot better than my previous D-Link, which kept disconnecting once a while somehow. But I do not have any problem with this unit. Signal is good, I have N, G and even B wireless devices and it works on all and all together; never had to reset it since I bought it.

After an online search of many vendors, B&H photo had this Netgear router available at the very best price [less than half the price others were asking and $32 cheaper than [...] in-store or online price]. I am using this router in a home-based application. [...]With regard to its claims of best pricing, availability,[...], B&H has earned my confidence and satisfaction. This Wireless-N-outer by Netgear router was rather easy to connect/set up and has performed flawlessly since its unpacking and installation a few weeks ago: so far, so very good.

After trying other routers and reading hundreds of user reviews on many models/brands I choose the Wireless-N Router by Netgear. This was a great decision as I found the router very easy to configure and the range seems to be great, so far.
Has many good security features as well as web interface for configuration. Was up and running in less then 15 minutes. Hassle free!

This router is very nice looking as well as very functional. You can stand it upright to conserve space - or use it in the horizontal position. I liked the over-all functionality. It is great for your wireless-N or G devices and also allows up to four devices to be connected in its Ethernet ports.

Comments about Netgear Wireless-N Router:
i use this product for home only and share a great amount of video and media. The speed was pretty fast, watching AVI movies pretty good, but lost signal sometime. Overall, it is a very good product. Hope it will last long enough. It is good for home network only. You should get a better one if you plan playing game or watching high def movies. Base on my experience, do not leave the router in a closed room, or the signal would get very low.
Hope this product will last long enough
