Comments about Actiontec Ethernet DSL Modem with Routing Capabilities:
This device works as it is suppose to.Very easy to set up, but make sure that you call your internet provider before begining the set up process. This will allow you to proceed to the next step.
The only thing that bothered me was the big gash in the original box not the box it was shipped in. However, the unit works fine so it wasn't damaged.

Comments about Actiontec Ethernet DSL Modem with Routing Capabilities:
I purchased this modem to replace an old AT&T Slipstream 5100B modem that was still operating just fine, but I wanted something that would be more compatible with the newer DSL standards, such as ADSL2+. After reading reviews of AT&T's OEM modem offerings, I knew that I didn't want one of those. I finally found a reference to the Actiontek GT701D modem, and most of the reviews were favorable, so I took a chance on it.
It's lived up to its reputation! Installation was easy, and the modem is quick and trouble free. I'm not a gamer, but I do a lot of internet research and bouncing from site to site, and I've noticed that there's an appreciable improvement in loading speeds when the internet and the sites themselves cooperate.
Whereas the old Slipstream modem sat vertically on my desk, the Actiontek sits horizontally, but has a small footprint, so it fits into the same space. Although it doesn't matter at all as far as performance goes, I also like the looks of this modem.
I've been using the modem for about 3 weeks, and I consider this upgrade to be money well spent.

Comments about Actiontec Ethernet DSL Modem with Routing Capabilities:
I bought this modem in combination with a wireless router to replace the modem/router from my internet service provider. It was easy to install and we have had no connectivity problems since switching to this modem a couple weeks ago.
It was easy to install. You pretty much just plug it in and it works. You do need your username and password from your internet service provider. I also read before I bought this modem that for my particular ISP which starts with a "V", it may be necessary to unplug your old modem a few hours before you install the new one. I did and I had no trouble.

Had to buy a DSL splitter, in order to connect my telephone. I had no luck in 4 Manhattan stores that sold computer/electronics, therefore I had to purchase online.

Comments about Actiontec Ethernet DSL Modem with Routing Capabilities:
Have ATT DSL. My old Motorola 2210 DSL modem burned out, you could log into it but it didn't detect the DSP's so bascially that unit was toast, and from what I read on the Internet, apparently a common problem. Replaced with this Actiontec which worked great. One difference is the Actiontec is the DSL termination and firewall/NAT device only. Before with the Motorola I used to pass PPPoE to a Cisco router I had behind the modem and so my credentials were on my Cisco. Now I don't need the Cisco, had to put my DSL credentials on the Actiontec, which takes care of NAT, etc. I use the DSL heavily around the clock and the Actiontec is working great so far.

I used this to replace the DSL modem supplied by AT&T which was a piece of junk from the start. This one came ready to go and had a little applet for setting up on the AT&T network. I've had it a couple of weeks and so far, so good.

After getting fed up with CONcast ripping me off, I went to AT&T DSL. Needed a good DSL modem and this one had great reviews all over the internet. Now that I'm using it I'll say those reviews were DEFINITELY spot on! The modem is very fast, compatible and stupid easy to setup. Has a ton of great features all accessible via a very user friendly UI. B&H had it very cheap [...] Definitely recommend this modem and will certainly being buying from B&H again in the future.

I got this modem to replace my AT&T motorola 2210, which overheated and dropped service all the time.
The actiontec modem works great with AT&T DSL service (Texas). It was easy to install. All I did was plug in the modem and follow directions and my internet was up in less than 5 minutes.
Now my internet speed is faster and doesn't lose the connection every 15 minutes. It also runs cooler than the motorola modem and is cheaper too. Best purchase I've made.

I have an AT&T DSL line. I bought this modem to replace my existing one which stopped working. It was very easy to set up and works flawlessly. It has a wizard which automatically figured out that I have AT&T DSL line and configured accordingly. All I had to do was enter the username and password. I would definitely recommend it.

Comments about Actiontec Ethernet DSL Modem with Routing Capabilities:
I bought it for a customer and used it here at my place first. The options are generous for a modem and I really like the diagnostic information for signal strength (however, I forgot how to get to them when I moved it to the customers house). The menus can be a bit cluttered with stuff. It's a solid modem though and didn't get too hot. Good replacement/alternative for the ATT/Bellsouth Motorola modems that die consistently.
