The American Dynamics EDVR series of embedded digital video recorders, of which the ADEDVR004008 is a part of, are well-built, extremely reliable, and at the same time easy to install. These make them a better, more beneficial alternative to recording video on the traditional VCRs and those rather cumbersome and relatively fragile tapes. The EDVR series of embedded digital video recorder, though economically priced, come equipped with all the basic and necessary features and as such are a good option for small retail stores, health care facilities, and small and medium-sized offices among others.
With all standard DVR functions, the EVDR series of video recorders only costs a fraction of what a fully featured digital video management system (DVMS) would. The EDVR video recorders include four live viewing modes - basic live view, freeze, 2X digital zoom, and custom sequencing. Further, full triplex operation enables simultaneous recording, live, and playback viewing. Additionally, on this system you can set up to 8 recording schedules, and play back the recorded videos as quickly or slowly as desired (from 1/100th to 100X the original speed). Furthermore, the EDVR video recorders provide superior image resolution recorded at 60 ips for NTSC and 50 ips for PAL. Catering to varying needs; the series offers four storage configurations - 80, 160, 320, and 640 GB. The built-in CD-RW and Secure Digital (SD) card slot allow easy export and transfer of recorded video. Besides, the systems export videos in the AVI format, and make them available in both NTSC and PAL color formats.
The front panel of the EDVR series of video recorders is well-designed, intuitive, and provides ready control over all recording, management, and searching functions. In addition to PTZ control, camera calls, and display modes, the EVDR video recorders allow remote monitoring, searches, and configuring of alarm notifications. Furthermore, searches can be refined to a great extent by means of multiple search modes and conditions including alarm list, time, event list, and filter. These video recorders also allow for thumbnail searches with eight different time intervals; this enables easy and quick searching of specific video clips. You can easily add the EDVR to an existing network via TCP/IP and view videos via a web browser, which enables easy searching of video, monitoring, and configuring of the cameras from a different part of the globe. More over, the recorders also allow you to receive alarm notifications with the help of a built-in web server from a remote workstation.
The American Dynamics EDVR series of embedded digital video recorders are available in 4, 9, and 16 channel desktop or rack mountable configurations with 2 audio channels. These video recorders can record images from any camera or dome in the American Dynamics range. They also support adjustable motion detection and covert cameras. Using the ADTT16E Touch Tracker Controller2 or an EDVR client, direct control of domes and cameras is possible from the EDVR front panel. The embedded proprietary operating system further enhances the reliability of these video recorders. The use of unalterable digital signatures of recorded video ensures authenticity.
