Comments about K-Tek KR-ME-200 Fur Windsock for 8" Shotgun:
Used it outdoors in light wind with a foam screen underneath. (Sennheiser ME66 microphone.)
Heard plenty of wind noise; expecting it to be quiet under
these conditions. Would have been intolerable anywhere
that had a lot of wind such as a beach.

Comments about K-Tek KR-ME-200 Fur Windsock for 8" Shotgun:
I use this in conjunction with a foam windscreen on short film sets as well as miscellaneous field shoots.
As advertised it adds a bit more protection vs. wind noise but it also protects the foam windscreen from dirt and other damage. Finally, it has a nice, professional look to it, which is nice.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Comments about K-Tek KR-ME-200 Fur Windsock for 8" Shotgun:
I recently bought the K-Tek fur windsock for field and documentary shoots outdoors, and use it on a shock-mount.
I did some tests outdoors with light wind, enough to rustle the leaves on the trees. I used my Sennheiser MZW 66, basic foam windscreen, and the fur windsock over this (note that you need the basic windscreen on as well, or this won't fit on the Sennheiser). When the wind blew, I heard it, though faintly. My voice was very clear. There wasn't much difference in quality blocking the wind with just the basic foam windscreen on. Then again, the wind was only lightly blowing. There was an obvious difference, and loud wind noises with no windscreen at all.
Side note: Looks very professional.

Fit easily over the basic windscreen on my sennheiser shotgun, worked like a charm while shooting a beach wedding with moderate gusts of wind.

Comments about K-Tek KR-ME-200 Fur Windsock for 8" Shotgun:
I was trying to find out a way to get better sound out of a Sennheiser ME-66 without buying a shock mount and a blimp. This seems to do the trick. I don't think I would use it during a hurricane but it has served me well so far.
