Comments about ADS Technologies PYRO1394 PCI Express FireWire-400 Host Card:
It took 10 minutes to install the card and start dowloading my video. Windows 7 recognized the card immediatly. When I connect my Sony camcorder, it found the driver and started transfering the video. Just as it should but I was pleased to see that it worked as I expected.

Comments about ADS Technologies PYRO1394 PCI Express FireWire-400 Host Card:
I bought this because most PC's do not come with FireWire anymore. I needed the express version which you cannot find locally, B&H had this for a good price so I ordered it [...] The unit [...] snapped right in the motherboard, I was uploading footage within 30 minutes. I didn't have any hiccups or lagging it does exactly what its suppose to do.

Comments about ADS Technologies PYRO1394 PCI Express FireWire-400 Host Card:
My Hasselblad film scanner is FireWire-400 and my new Mac Pro does not have a FireWire-400 port.
I could have used a converter to FireWire-800, but I also have the need for a 12' cable to reach the scanner - so the beat solution was a board and use my existing cable.
I am not a "techie" so always a little hesitant to open up my workhorse - but this proved SO EASY and it worked immediately - no software install - just plug it into the slot!

[...] I plugged it right into an open PCIe slot on my mac pro tower. No problems recognizing it and no software or drivers to install. Works perfectly.
