Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 PCI Express x16 Professional Display Card:
Once I upgraded from Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects CS4 to CS5 for HDSLR footage from a Canon 5DMii, my dual core HP xw8400 with an NVIDIA Quadro FX3500 began to freeze. I considered replacing the workstation with a quadcore, but even then I would have needed an improved graphics card to take advantage of Adobe's Mercury Playback Engine (MPE). After reading reviews in Studio Daily and other HD video magazine that the Quadro FX3800 was sufficient to obtain all the benefits of the MPE in CS5, I chose it as the most cost effective upgrade.
Before beginning installation, I removed the NVIDIA driver for the FX3500. Mechanical installation was straightforward. My workstation already met the extra power requirements for the FX3800. The instructions weren't clear on how and when to use the connector for sound, so I left that out for a future modification. Last, I downloaded and installed the newer driver needed to take advantage of the NVIDIA CUDA technology (parrallel processing) used in the MPE program.
My workstation no longer frezes on rendering. Its noticeably helpful for the FX3800 to pre-render effects that before required a separate render using the CPU. Nice features include the HDMI outputs that I'll connect to a newer HD large screen television which can read pc signals.
The FX3800 is a pricey card. I'll port that over when I finally decide to go for a newer workstation.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 PCI Express x16 Professional Display Card:
The card was easy to install and works great with a Dell Precision 490 running Windows 7. The dual monitor setup, Dell 3007WFPHC and Dell 2001FP, required an additional DisplayPort to VGA video adapter to connect the second monitor.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 PCI Express x16 Professional Display Card:
Very easy to install although you may need a splitter for power as it requires two Molex connectors for additional power on the back end of the card. My power supply had plenty of extra connectors. It is longer than the usual card but fit in an Antec 900-2 case on an Asus P6T motherboard without difficulty. Power calculations on the Corsair site indicate that with this motherboard and the 3800 card 650 Watts minimum is required. I installed it on a system with an HX850 Corsair Power Supply.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 PCI Express x16 Professional Display Card:
Upgrading to Windows 7, maxing computer RAM to 8GB, upgrading my two HD's to 1T each, this Quadro FX video card was the last step in bringing my 3 year old Dell Precision 390, up to current standards. The Nvidia Quadro FX 3800 runs Photoshop CS5 just as I hoped it would. I wish the price was lower, but it was only $30 more for this 3800 1GB card, vs. 3700 512MB. That was fair. It was a smooth install, and nothing to do after reboot except enjoy.

Comments about PNY Technologies nVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 PCI Express x16 Professional Display Card:
The graphic card was installed in our HP xw8600 editing machine. HP already had the correct extra power requirement for the card. and all appears to be running smoothly, I noticed a slight increase in performance from the FX 1700 that the new card replaced.
