As you step up from the American Dynamics 'ADCSH' series box cameras to this ADCTDN2412N model, you not only gain a true Day/Night function, but you also get a number of very useful electronic controls. These include a focus adjust mode; selectable BLC, white balance and shutter settings; and advanced pixel correction. All these will help you achieve optimum image quality in a variety of lighting and scene situations in a 24-hour monitoring environment.
There's also a CRT/LCD switch so that you can match the output of the camera with the type of monitor you are using it with.
The ADCTDN2412N is also one of a few box cameras on the market that supports both DC and Video auto iris lenses. Although higher in cost, Video iris lenses do a slightly better job at adjusting iris levels in response to changing light intensities. Since this is a Day/Night camera, you'll achieve best results using a Video iris lens that is also IR corrected.
