The Hi5-3G 3G/Dual-Link/HD/SD-SDI to HDMI Converter from Aja can be used to convert any SDI signal for use with HDMI display devices. Audio is supported in the HDMI output, allowing for a single-cable AV connection. It also provides (2) channels of RCA-style audio outputs for separate audio monitoring as needed.

- This device offers HDMI v1.3a support, including deep color 30-bit video (24-bit also supported) and (2) or (8) channels of embedded audio
- An additional (2) channels of RCA analog audio output are user-assignable
- A scaling engine is employed for proper display of 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio
- It can be set up on a PC or Mac using a USB port

Out of my mac book pro into the AJA SDI out to a video switcher, then to air.
I use this set up for live television to show pre packaged graphics. They come out clean.

I'm using an HP Dreamcolor monitoring out of a Black Magic Decklink Extreme card for grading with Davinci Resolve for Mac. I couldn't get access to color spaces without a progressive signal. I bought this and the ac adapter along with an SDI cable and my problems are solved. Everything works as it should now! Very happy with it!

I bought one of these as a cheap solution to having to buy a monitor with an HD-SDI input-very expensive! It works great, but... I think the power connector is a bit odd, and I hate that you have to order the power supply separately... I always forget!

By using my AJA Kona 3 output to the HD-SDI/SDI to HDMI Converter, and then out using the HDMI to my Panasonic Pro client monitor, I get a pristine image in 1080 and at a fraction of the price of buying the Panasonic plugin card for the monitor.
