I bought this as a gift for myself mainly because I wanted the ease of wirelessly transferring photos to my computer. (I got the pro version because I wanted to also have the option of uploading raw files.)

So far, I have only tested jpegs and have found that it does that really well (working automatically in the background) and saves me the time of having stop and hook the camera up to the computer or insert the sd card directly in a reader. Although you can simply specify a folder to save the images it, if you have a Mac and use iPhoto, it can also be set to automatically import to there too.

It also can wirelessly upload photos to a photo sharing service such as flickr at the same time. (You can control which photos are uploaded.) I used it at a family reunion and was able to instantly give people the links to the flickr album and access to download the photos. They loved that!

The geotagging aspect is hit or miss. It is accurate when it is able to obtain the data. Because of how it obtains the geotagging info, is not a feature you want to depend on if you are going to a sparsely populated area because it can't always provide a location.

As far as transfer speed, I haven't tried it with large raw or jpegs yet, but for what I am doing (and for the general amateur population), it is more than adequate. Usually I have a few minutes between when I am shooting and when I get a chance to get to my computer, and in that time, it is able to upload all my photos.

It is very easy to setup and use. Because of the ease of use, I would say this product targets amateur gadget lovers. I would even say this is good for those people who are not fully computer savvy (especially those who have trouble transferring photos from their camera to their computer - those those people might want to consider other versions of the eye-fi and would not need the "pro" version.)

I always shoot tethered to my computer, and next week have an outdoor shoot. Fearing short battery life, I was hoping to leave my laptop in the truck on an inverter and walk away to my set in the park, using the Eye-Fi as a LONG tether.

I found the transfer speed (58 seconds instead of 5 via tether cable) to be way too long for Raw files. Also tried writting the smallest JPEGs I could to this card and writting the Raw's to the 2nd card in the 1Ds MkIII.

I also use PhaseOne's Capture1 software, and writing files in this manner will not let me lock in gray balance, curves and the like...it will just show me the files as they are.

Considering the cost of production and the number of crew involved, I'm just renting battery systems for the laptop.

If you're only doing a few shots a day and speed is not an issue this is a pretty slick idea.

I bought this card so I could use it with my 5D MKII and link to Shutter Snitch on the iPad for on-set client review of low-res JPEG previews. Works well once all the setup is completed. Takes about 10-12 seconds to send a SM or MED jpg to ShutterSnitch via wifi. FYI on a Jailbroken iPad, you can run your own MyWi wifi ad-hoc access point and use that as the wifi that EyeFi connects to. So you can be out in the field.

Comments about Eye-Fi 4GB Wi-Fi Pro SDHC Memory Card:

The setup was extremely easy: 1) Plug the Eye-Fi card into your computer using the provided USB connector 2) Install software included on the card 3) Select a wireless network in the newly installed Eye-Fi manager 4) Put the Eye-fi card in your camera and take pictures!

I use the Eye-Fi Pro card with my D300s camera and Adobe Lightroom. When I send JPG images, it takes 5-10 seconds for the image to show up on my laptop in Lightroom using a plugin to watch folders. It works seemlessly!

I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Comments about Eye-Fi 4GB Wi-Fi Pro SDHC Memory Card:

This is a cool SD card for wireless downloads and geotagging. This one handles RAW and video files. It will automatically download files to where you say on your computer and/or to a variety of online locations in a wi-fi hot zone. It's easy to use and works like it's suppose too.
The downside is: because it downloads over the internet, it's a little slow, especially for video files. If speed isn't an issue, then it can help automate the workflow.

Comments about Eye-Fi 4GB Wi-Fi Pro SDHC Memory Card:

I purchased this to simply my wife's use of her Nikon DSLR. She takes great photos, but used to dread the transfer process.

The software installed VERY easily and set-up was a breeze. It offered direct connections to all the usual photo sites, one of which was the one my wife prefers.

The 4 GB card size matched the card she had been using and provides more capture room than she has patience taking photos in one setting.

The only drawback to this product I could possibly note is the packaging. It comes in a small card style box and after cutting the seal at the bottom of one corner and spending a full minute trying to pull the entire insert out one end, I discovered that pulling the card out one end would automatically expose the larger section out the other end. It was comical once I discovered it.

I think with the geo-tagging and auto upload this is a GREAT value and we are very pleased with its performance.

I am very disappointed that I bought the Pro Version of this card. Thinking that I'd get more out of the ad-hoc connections, I paid the extra cash. Unfortunately, the card I got disconnects from any wi-fi network that I connect to within a couple minutes. I've tried working with support, but they were useless. Being a networking professional in IT for over a decade, I have the tools to trouble shoot this in depth, while support was asking questions like, "Is the camera on?" Even though the wi-fi part doesn't work, the pics do automagically upload to the internet once the camera is connected with the SD adapter. I cannot recommend this.
