Comments about Wein L8 Micro Slave (Household, 150' Range):

For years I have used these slaves in my studios in NYC and they never failed me. Of course shooting in a studio is a controlled enviornment so I never had stray light sources to deal with. The slave I bought from B&H was used for large group shots in a house with tons of windows on a bright sunny day. The slave is so sensitive that it fired the speedotron strobe it was plugged int when someone walked in front of the sunlight coming through a window. It's a good product but the user must be aware of the ambient light level and absolutely keep it away from direct sun light.

Comments about Wein L8 Micro Slave (Household, 150' Range):

This slave is not as sensitive as their big slave unit but it is low profile enough so it's easier to tape it on to Sunpak 622 Super. This is very useful as additional light on location as well as studio, because 622 can use a zoom head or a barebulb head.

I use the micro slave with my Lumadyne lights. The slaves fire the lights everytime I click the shutter, not missed shots with these Wein L8 Slave units.

Not much to these guys, and that is what is great about them. I plug them into Sunpak 622s (3 of them, the other is set off by a Wein trigger. They have been working as expected, will work with any unit that has an "H" household plug slot. They work time after time after time.

These have been around forever, and serve the purpose for which they were created - to fire additional strobes every time without fil. If you don't need special features, these are great. No batteries, just plug in & start firing!

Comments about Wein L8 Micro Slave (Household, 150' Range):

The L8 Micro slave works perfectly with my Novatron 600VR. It even works at 1/128th power manual flash allowing me to shoot as fast as I want to. It seems very well made and comes with a 2 year warranty (which I didn't realize until it was shipped to me). It is very easy to use and I have made over 1,000 pictures using it with out any problems. It is very cost efficient and makes sync cords obsolete. At first I wasn't sure it would work because the prongs were a little thinner than the original sync cord prongs but I found that the connections fit just fine and fires every single time. I can even bounce 1/64th -3 off the ceiling and get my strobes to fire!

Just make sure that it is plugged in the right way. If it's plugged in the wrong way it will only work part of the time. Switched my sony flash to manual and set it to 1/16 and it works flawlessly.

Always works, never fails, cheap and easy to use.

And the best part is ... No batteries needed
