Comments about Henry Engineering USB Matchbox II:
We bought this to use as an interface box between a Sennheiser wireless mic and a USB interface on a MacPro - for a client installation. The receive on the Sennheiser gear provides a high level output which works perfectly fine with a Personus or RME type box that converts audio to USB. PROBLEMS 1. The USB Matchbox says it's a high level input device but we never could get enough level going to have it be useable. Outputs are just too low even with all the manual input and output adjustments turned full on. 2. The Headphone jack only works with 50 ohm headphones AND it only works if you have signal come back to the box. Go figure. Useless for monitoring what's going into the box. 3. The unit itself looks like a an old 1970's hobby Heathkit box painted blue. Doesn't impact performance but for the price it sure would have been nice to have something more attractive for the client. [...]. 5. Support was fairly prompt but offered no resolution on the rather insensitivity of the inputs even from Hi Level devices and lack of decent headphone support. No offer to trade, no replacement. 6. Expensive for what you get - even if it did work properly. An no I would not recommend to anyone this device or anything like it from Henry Engineering. There are just too many other more well known and more reliable manufacturers.
