The Intellex Policy Manager (10 to 25 units) provides additional security for a collective network of unlimited remote workstations and Intellex units.
The Intellex Policy Manager is an essential part of the Intellex Management Suite - a Windows based application, which centrally manages multiple Intellex Digital Video Surveillance Management systems over a computer network. The application assists administrators in managing user access and operation of digital video recorders. In order to do so, it provides additional security to the collective network of the Intellex units and remote workstations, either on Network Client or any other third party software applications. If the DVR works with third party software, it would need Intellex API (Application Programming Interface).
The key role of this application is to provide an extremely high level of security pertaining to the access and usage of Intellex resources and function. Assigned login credentials and access privileges per user or user group lets you achieve such high level of security. The Intellex Policy Manager provides different access mode to each individual regardless of the functions. Besides, each individual can have separate access to individual recorder including video, audio and text.
The Intellex Policy Manager can apply default security characteristics of one Intellex unit to the others in the same "zone" - saving valuable time in setting advanced security on additional Intellex units. On installation, Intellex Policy Manager integrates itself into the existing Windows security infrastructure and applies the same type of security that encompasses general network applications and Intellex units. However, it does not compromise with any existing network security protocols for performing such action.
With Intellex Policy Manager, an administrator can specify unique privileged profiles for the user, irrespective of local and remote access of the digital video recorder. The security system has the option to select existing user accounts of the domain. This application allows the administrator to share the permission of a group with the user of another. Similarly, if the user inherits access from a group, the administrator can deny the same.
The application can be implemented on TCP/IP Ethernet-based networks such as LAN, WAN, or VPN. The server/client software is compatible with Microsoft Windows NT v4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows 2003 network domains. The software is also compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, and Microsoft Windows XP Professional.
In order to audit the status of the digital video recorder and /or the status of the software the administrator needs to log in to the Windows Event Viewer. The software even allows copying of user privileges of one digital video recorder to the others.
With Intellex Policy Manager, the network administrator can implement some existing network connectivity parameters like maximum logout attempts, lockout duration, instrument polling intervals and multiple concurrent administration sessions to the administrators of digital video security.
