The American Dynamics Fiber RAID Storage Solution is designed for the VideoEdge Network Video Recorder and other high-end recording devices, and supports a storage capacity of up to 15 TB by daisy chaining 3 fiber expansion units. It is controlled by a single controller and has a full set of RAID configurations (RAID Level 0, 1, 5, 10, and global hot spare) and a suite of storage provisioning and security solutions.
The storage solution offers 72hr battery-backed cache protection with full redundancy and serviceability for power supplies and fans. When used with the optional dual-controller, it offers high-availability with active failover capability without interruption, as almost every component of the storage solution is hot-swappable.
The storage solution supports snapshots, SNMP, component health monitoring, online capacity expansion, drive diagnostics/inspection, bad sector reconstruction, LUN masking, chap authentication, as well as telnet and serial console management. It offers good system fault tolerance, a mirrored battery-backed cache, multi-path I/O management, double data channels, and seamless failover down to the last drive.
A 6-step setup wizard allows the storage solution to be quickly installed; adding or reconfiguring the expansion units is also easy. The storage solution can write data to a SAN at block level for efficient performance. Along with an industry standard Intel architecture and an integrated browser-based storage manager interface, it has dual fiber 2 GB/s and dual 1 GB/s Ethernet ports per controller.
