Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer:
I don't know when I've been so pleased with a product (except when I purchased my iMac). The setup was super easy - five minutes after it was out of the box, it was up and running. I plan to use this for my work and so far, have had no complaints. It's fast, quiet, lightweight; definitely easy to take back and forth from work to home. It's just the right size. The last laptop I purchased, over four years ago, was a 13" - and that was just a tad too small. This is a perfect size for me. I would highly recommend this product without hesitation.

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer:
I've had this laptop for a little over a year now and cant imagine owning anything else. The size is perfect for school and mobility; although, it tends to seem a little heavier with longer walks when I have the case on. The speed is phenomenal! I'm running Adobe CS5 without any hold-up. Programs load beautifully, graphics are stunning for a notebook, and the processor is snappy. The battery life is excellent despite minor decline over time. Oh, and the best part, this is a gorgeous computer! I'll admit, I'm a sucker for Apple design and products in general. I've got the iPad and I'm waiting on the iPhone 4! All in all, great product, and don't hesitate to purchase!

I got my Mac to use for photography and web work.
What a super machine, fast, quiet and first rate all the way. As soon as you start to unpack it you can tell about the care, quality and thought Apple put into the creation of this work of art.
Near as I can tell the Macbook Pro is perfect.

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer:
Well, okay, no computer is perfect but this is darn near. Intel based so if you want you can screw it up by installing Windows. Why anyone would want to mess up a perfectly good Apple by doing so is beyond me- but you are right, there are no drivers for my Epilog laser engraver and some applications like Intuits Quickbooks require it. So grit your teeth and install XP on boot camp, then virtually on Fusion (or Parallels that came free) and you are all set.Meanwhile back on the perfect side (phew!) lets enjoy the Mac operating system. My poor friends are telling me about all these great "new" things Win 7 now does reading down a long list of things the Apple OS has perfected long ago. A convenient Dock off to the side where you can quickly access all your favorite apps and see if they are active or not by the little white dot. You know, I'm not even going to list all the advanced features of the Mac OS. If you want to live in the MS world of misery that's your business. While you are attempting to find the right driver for your old printer that might work on Win 7 I'll be pulling the printout from mine. The hard work is done for you. They just work. And no [*]about authentication or spooky notes about your security suite being out of date. Mac's are in another world, a very pleasant one.I am a graphics artist. With Adobe's Creative Suite (Indesign for page layout, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver for building web pages though I still like to hardcode mine) I can do literally anything I can think of. This little baby is up to it. The MacBook Pro is rugged and well built. Watch the video and see how it is milled out of one block of aluminum. My old Pro Book fell to the floor a few days after the warranty expired and broke the latch. Two Hundred bucks to fix it! (I lived with it) There's no latch to break on this one. It's a magnetic clamp. Genius! Oh, and the power cord is the same way, held in place by a magnet so if it gets yanked it will disengage rather than break. Perfect! It connects wirelessly or plugs into our ethernet. We can share files across platforms by clicking a few settings. I keep my laser files (PC) on an iMac where they are automatically backed up with Time Machine on a separate external hard drive so I do not have to remember to back them up myself. That has worked flawlessly for over two years now. It's just worry free and very simple. And I can access them on my new laptop just like that. Or my old PC if it happens to work.Apple has Mobile Me where for $100/year you have a hard drive in the sky where you can save your work and access it from where ever you are. You can also synchronize your calender, address books, music and so on between your new laptop, home and work computers. Snap, it's done. Share photos and files with any or all, for a day or forever. Model Me includes E-mail too.[...]Somehow Apple gets away with price fixing though it's illegal, it's hard to find these at more than a token discount. But the machines are worth the money. The OS is worth it. The pleasure of playing with a perfect computer is worth it.One of my gripes about my old laptop was the scroll pad. It was small and difficult to maneuver. No problem, I just plugged in a mouse (or wireless bluetooth). The new touch pad is larger and with a little practice I've figured out how to whale on it. One finger moves the cursor. Two fingers up or down is the zoom. Left click and right click. You can even reprogram it if you want. Maybe I don't need a mouse. Pretty soon these things will be reading our minds! What else? Oh, there's a little camera that you can take snapshots of yourself and play around with how they look in Photo Booth. I guess you can video conference too. Who would want to see my face I dunno. The built in speakers are decent or plug your earphones in. You can plug in another monitor if you have a large project to work on. Plug it into your big flat screen TV for an impressive slide show of old family photos or your recent vacation. No, wait, these are really good! There's even a slot for your camera's SD card. A nice DVD record/play. Firewire for fast service on your backup drive. And I can take it anywhere. Well, okay, maybe not surfing or snorkeling... But it ran for over five hours on the battery.Perfect. The moment I unpacked it I knew I had done the right thing purchasing this computer. A few weeks later I still think so and I'm pretty certain I'll still be very happy with it a few years from now. I just do not have anything bad to say except you can run Windows on the darn thing! I just love it.

This was the first Mac computer I've ever purchased. For years I've purchased Dell laptops running Microsoft Windows OS. I've been very impressed with the quality, speed, quietness, battery life, etc. of this MacBook Pro. To top it all off, B&H [...] had the best price.

The Mac was our first laptop purchase. It is simple during initial use. Clear process on how to began. Very user friendly. After set up, the book went to school for its first day, operation was flawless. Even though it is significantly more expensive, Apple needs to make it price point more competitive, it was a good upgrade for the kids. They love adding the notebook to their collection of Apple products.

When I got my PC 4 years ago, it took DAYS to get the computer, modem and router all set up, communicating and working together. I had to call Dell, Comcast and Motorola (and wait on hold, etc.).So--I replace it with a Mac. I open the box, place it on the counter, open it up, and within 5 minutes, I was surfing the net wirelessly, etc. No print drivers to intstall, no digital camera software to download, no 10 hour Windows 7 upgrade. Awesome looking screen. Boots up in seconds (not 10 minutes like my PC).I do wish it had more USB connections. I bought a BlueTooth mouse so I wouldn't have to use a USB port for the mouse. But so far, I love it.And--B&H had the BEST price around, [...]. It arrived in 2 days!

Perfect for home use like Internet surfing and photo managing. Mac OS X is stable and easy to use. Aluminum body seems solid and looks just great. LED display provides the highest image quality. Multi-touch trackpad is so handy you'll never use mouse again. Battery life is up to 6-7 hours, great for use on road.
Owned 13-inches MB before - it's a little bit too small, 17-inches is too expensive, 15-inches is the best choice. And it's Apple.

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer:
I have never used an Apple computer before, closest I've come is an ipod. I recieved my MacBook pro 15," turned it on, loaded Adobe Lightroom and I was in business. I was able to plug my Western Digital external hard drive in and access my image files as if I'd been doing it for years. I am amazed that everything actually works the way it's supposed to.
It's quick, quiet, and cool. I thought I wouldn't like the glossy screen very much, but I love it. The prints from my Epson R2880 match the screen just about spot on, I just needed to adjust the screen brightness down a few notches. I did, of course, calibrate the color on the screen before running my first prints.
I use the machine to process photographs. I use Adobe Lightroom and photoshop CS4. Actually the only negative thing I have to say about the experience so far isn't Apple's fault.....my version of photoshop is windows only. So I installed Parallels so I could install Windows Vista 64 bit OS so I can run Photoshop on the Mac. I dread switching over to Vista from the Mac side. Constant nagging about updates I don't need, and the OS is slow and clunky feeling compared to the Mac side.
There are only two things I miss. A numeric key pad and a backspace key. If that's the price of admission then I'm a happy camper.
