Comments about Cavision VDL-11X 11x Large Rotating Director's Viewfinder:
I am an independent filmmaker and I bought this viewfinder to use it in my fiction projects. To my surprise, I am using it to shoot fiction, non-fitcion, gigs (I recently used it for a series of interviews), anything. I am taking it with me even when I am not shooting, just for the pleasure to see the world through different focal lengths.
It fits in the pocket (not in tight jeans) and it's a solid piece of metal. You see the scene in a small window through this viewfinder (I don't have any idea how it is in other viewfinders), but it's enough to plan your composition.
A simple machine which I wish I had bought years ago, even before than a camera.

Comments about Cavision VDL-11X 11x Large Rotating Director's Viewfinder:
I utilize my VDL-11x director's viewfinder for movie and video production. I have found that it is versatile to many things; for instance, I added a ring adapter which allows for many filters to be used for getting that key look before lugging my professional film camera to the site. Moreover, I also am very pleased with the easy adjusting and clicking dials which takes the guessing out of figuring what format to use, which is one of the many reasons I purchased the Cavision. The only issue I have found to be a concern is identifying which way is directionally up when I took it out of the box. Meaning, there was no markings indicating which way was up in reference to the numbers on the dials. Other than this I have found that this product has help me extremely well. I have already passed on my good views about this item to my friends who are in the same business.
I am very pleased with it. Thank you very much.

Comments about Cavision VDL-11X 11x Large Rotating Director's Viewfinder:
I've been using this product to scout locations, camera blocking, and discovering cool shots. Perfect to know where my ship should go. A must for all big crew, and heavy equipment productions. I wish cavision VDL does a little of rack focus to know depth of field, but honestly it was meant to show what inside the frame, but I still love it.
