The 4TB G-SPEED eS PRO External Hard Drive Array from G-Technology is an external hard drive array, designed for use in mission-critical applications. As configured, the array offers an impressive 4TB of storage spread across 4 physical drives.
The array features no internal hardware RAID controller, and as such requires a dedicated mini-SAS RAID controller to function. G-Technology's included PCI Express x8 controller card can host 2 G-SPEED eS PRO units. It is capable of RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, and 6 configurations.

Comments about G-Technology 4TB G-SPEED eS PRO External Hard Drive Array:
The drive works great once you have it set up. The problem is the drive is optimized for Mac's and not PC's. It works fine with a PC, but you have to go to the website to download the right software. Why they can't include that software on the installation disc is crazy!

Comments about G-Technology 4TB G-SPEED eS PRO External Hard Drive Array:
I have this product installed in an AVID Adrenaline HD editing suite and it's running great. However the setup leaves a lot to be desired. This product is very well designed and documented for the MAC platform but it's lacking the PC supporting material. The website didn't help for PC either. I had to call technical support and get their assistance in installing it. The agent was able to help eventually but the process took a while. I would recommend the product itself since it seems very well built and has a lot of storage for such a small footprint.

Comments about G-Technology 4TB G-SPEED eS PRO External Hard Drive Array:
Purchased this 4TB Raid solution for Video editing in FCP7 on an 8 core Mac pro tower. The included SAS raid card is quite substantial as is the build quality of the enclosure. Currently running the raid Array in RAID5 mode resulting in AJA speed tests in around the 300MB/s for both read and write (raid 5). I would buy again. Initial setup proved to be aggravating; 8 hours to format, format failed due to system falling asleep, changed power settings on the mac and reformatted (another 8 hours) and enclosure stopped at 99% complete. However a reboot showed it was perfectly fine. Raid card is not very quiet and the enclosure can be loud when the fan kicks in. I did not find the instructions all that intuitive but once this unit was up and running all of my frustrations dissipated and it's been smooth sailing since. If your system and enclosure is tucked under your desk the extra noise is barely noticeable.
If your a video post house this unit/card is definitely worth considering.
