Rycote A5 5-Section Aluminum Boompole By Rycote
The Lightwave A5 Boompole is designed by Rycote and is constructed of lightweight aluminum. The boompole is specifically designed for T.V. and news broadcast applications. The A5 features a unique locking-cam design, eliminating threaded connections and allowing easy section breakdown for cleaning and maintaining. The five-section pole features a total length of 98-inches (2.49m) and a retracted length of 26-inches (0.66m). The pole is durable and without any metal parts at all, the A5 is incredibly easy to maintain and features an ultra lightweight.

I was having some problems with my normal boom pole. One, it was too long for an international documentary filming, and this one gets very small so its excellent for that. The other problem I had with my other boom pole was that, the metal rings to tighten or loosen it for extension or retraction, were too tight. It was a real hastle to get it to work properly. You'd tighten it up when it was cool outside at night, then the next day when its warm it would be almost impossible to loosen. Just really annoying to work with day after day while trying to operate as a one man videographer. This pole is just great. Really if you are thinking about buying this and its the right measurement for you, I think you will love it like I do. No problems, all benefits so far.
