Comments about Buffalo 2TB LinkStation Live LS-CHL Network Hard Drive:
My wife and I have bunches of photos from various vacations, family shots, and "scanned to digital" pics, and we have been planning on sorting and storing them somewhere. At the same time, I have been wanting to keep files "at home", but access them from the Web.
The LinkStation does all that. I had a LITTLE difficulty configuring my 2Wire router to allow inbound traffic, but finally got that resolved.
Now, instead of keeping my laptop choked up with all the files I MIGHT need on the road, I can store them on the LinkStation, and access them as needed.
The WebAccess is not quite as fast as I would like, (and I realize that depends on connections, etc.) but it SURE BEATS driving home and copying files, or having to "guess" which files I MIGHT need, and keep them all on my laptop.
Great product, great price, easy setup.... I'm a happy camper. I will probably get another just like it to use as a mirror.

Comments about Buffalo 2TB LinkStation Live LS-CHL Network Hard Drive:
I have three computers that I use for different purposes with some overlap. They are each on different floors, ground floor, upstairs, and basement.
The Buffalo 2TB Linkstation installed without any difficulties.
I synchronize files with SyncToy from all three computers, enabling availability of all data and photographs from all computers. I have had a good experience with SyncToy 2.1; I understand earlier versions had difficulty with NAS.
Loading data from computers connected via wireless connection was slow, so I loaded large photo databases from an external disk attached to the computer with a wired connection. Synchronization, though somewhat tedious, is not too slow. I use N & G wireless technology, and eventually plan to purchase a faster wireless router when I can determine that a speed increase will be an actual result. At this point speed claims seem a bit vague.
