This unit allows me to provide power from an ac outlet directly to my Panasonic DMCZS3 camera and connect the miniUSB camera output to computer (at the same time). With only one USB connector on the camera, you must choose to power with ac or connect to PC; with this unit you can do both. This is great for archiving the excellent AVCHD files (*.mts) for the high definition movies from the camera; large HD files can take a long time to download and batteries can drain rapidly. With this unit and the Panasonic ac adapter, battery life is not an issue; and the battery power can be used for shooting pictures or movies. Great product!
