Comments about Vivitar ViviCam 8400 Underwater Digital Point-and-shoot Camera:
If you know anything about photography, you know that under water photography is a challenge unto itself. With that said, this is a great camera for the money. I took mine snorkeling in the BVI and USVI. It did pretty good. Best in sunny conditions. But couldn't ask for an easier camera to use.

Comments about Vivitar ViviCam 8400 Underwater Digital Point-and-shoot Camera:
Overall I was pretty pleased with the quality of the pictures taken with this camera. I had many blurry images (it's tough to hold your hands still when you're floating under the water and trying to avoid coral), but I took so many pictures that I still came home with about 25 good underwater shots. A friend on our snorkeling trip used an Olympus underwater camera and got much sharper images, but I think she spent twice as much on her camera. I think the images that you get from this camera are very good for a camera that is so inexpensive.

Comments about Vivitar ViviCam 8400 Underwater Digital Point-and-shoot Camera:
I haven't had too much of a chance to use the camera, but it's very basic and user friendly. It's great if you know you are going to be doing something where the camera might get wet. It is a bulkier that I thought it was going to be and the batteries seem to die very quickly. Additionally, the flash takes a few seconds to load between each picture so it makes sequential pictures difficult. But if you know you are going on a cruise or the beach, this camera is fantastic.

Comments about Vivitar ViviCam 8400 Underwater Digital Point-and-shoot Camera:
I was looking for a water resistant point and shoot camera that I could take in the back woods and not worry about it. This camera never made the back woods because during the practice shooting I found out that the quality of picture was terrible. Also, the camera's AF, I could not tell when the actual focusing occurred or when the picture was being taken. The case from the outside looked tough and durable, but it never made it to the elements.

Comments about Vivitar ViviCam 8400 Underwater Digital Point-and-shoot Camera:
I've had good luck with Vivitar products over many years. This was just what I was looking for, at a great price, to do photos at the beach, in the waves, maybe even outside during rain and snow. I've opened it and read the instructions, and it operates like any similar digital camera- almost identical to my Samsung 8.1mp. I can't wait to give it a good workout!

Comments about Vivitar ViviCam 8400 Underwater Digital Point-and-shoot Camera:
Recently bought this camera for use on vacation snorkel trips. The buttons are very easy to use and distinguish. The camera takes great pictures, though it is sometimes difficult to see the viewfinder underwater, which is to be expected. The video turned out great. Overall this is a good underwater camera for the occasional snorkeler or vacationer, though if you were looking for frequent scuba quality, you might need to move up a step or two. I feel I definitely got what I paid for.

Comments about Vivitar ViviCam 8400 Underwater Digital Point-and-shoot Camera:
I was very scared to use this camera for underwater at first. But after the fear it was so nice to have a camera around the water and sand, and not have to worry about my camera getting damaged by water, etc. Quality in the prints are great. Only thing that I really didn't care for was - when ya snorkel with it ya couldn't tell if it was on or not, or ya had to push the flash on. The auto flash should of flashed for underwater. So make sure the flash is on for better exposure. Over all I would really recommend this camera for vacations around water, and even all time use if ya have a boat.
