Our 2nd one of these just died. The first one died due to a battery corrosion which caused the battery spring to break off. The second one broke with no reason - it just stopped working. Not going to buy a 3rd...

Used for portrait and macro shots. No harsh shadows. Battery compartment door awkward and feels cheap. Hard to fit batteries. Nice to have both options in a flash bought a on flash diffuser for the flash. This was my second flash hoping to use as a slave also.

The flash works exactly as advertised. I have a 7d and has not given me any problems. The only down side is that the construction is pretty flimsy. One hard hit and something is going to crack.

Bought this for a Canon XSi. My goal was to take macro picture for dental applications. The ring fixture works great, specially if you can adjust the flash intensity in your camera. Overall it works great. Just think that the unit is a bit too bulky and heavy, but since I'm using a tripod that's no problem.

I was looking for a macro ring flash for a while, I saw this combination, for the price it is great. What I do not like is not being able to control the flash output.

The ring flash worked fantastically for portraits and close up photos. The regular flash is powerful, and tends to lighten faces too much. For indoors I found myself using it strictly as bounce flash. Overall, this was a fantastic buy at the price!

I shoot low light non-flash photography (live performance). I picked up this flash for fill lighting. Great price! Works Great!
I didn't need the Macro flash but my hope was I would get a new effect. Hasn't worked out. But I will find a use for it.

I use de product for canon g10 with the extension tube for macro lenses or tele lens, but thering ligth is too wide and obstruct the focus sensor of the camera.
Comments about Bower SFD 52C Dual Intelligent Speed Light for Canon E-TTL I/II Cameras:
So I purchased this flash for a fairly good price. The problem I ran into is that the main flash is just way too dim. Once you use it and you view the picture there is a distinct line between where the flash went and darkness..and where there is light it is just not cutting it. Although...the positive point is that I adore the ring flash, gives a beautiful light. So but I am going to end up buying another flash just because this one altogether is just not bright enough.
