The Sunpak Auto 16R Macro Ring Flash can be used for a variety of applications, including extreme close-ups, such as oral, and other medical-use photos as well as portraits. The circular flash tube snaps on to your camera lens, and it will eliminate shadows.
The circular flash tube produces a very soft light and a sense of transparency. The flash projects an even amount of light across the entire surface of the subject. The 16R will not produce a shadow on the background, even at close distances.

Comments about Sunpak Auto 16R Macro Ring Flash (Guide No. 1-16 m):
I've owned several old versions of this model and I always liked them. This one is good - however lacks the AC option and the inner ring has a sharp square edge which prevents the light to go near the lenses as the old ones - so no close-up of real small objects. The previous good old casing was replaced by a disposable cadboard box and the overall look seems cheaper too.
