Well I am no professional photographer and after seeing reviews about how great the Dlux 4 was. I decided to purchase one. The Black color wasn't very catchy to me. Then I saw the Safari Edition and said " I want that camera". I end up purchasing the next to last one they had. I then anticipated it with every hour. It finally arrived and I was at work. I left work and headed to Oklahoma to the Casinos. I took some shots here and there. I hardly had time to read the manual yet it was easy to use. I then get home and see my pictures. Good quality. I am new to this and yet the colors seemed to say "Look at me". My eyes almost could not believe I had taken those pictures. I then realized that going from a 100 dollar camera to a 200 dollar camera made a difference. i then got the SX200 IS by Canon. Good color and upgrade for me. Then I got this. Boy was I in the wrong market and thats when it hit me that not only does the Leica lens and Firmware make such pictures possible but you pay for what you get. Well i have been taking pictures with this camera and I am excited to see what comes out when I print my pictures. i love the clarity and detail of every picture. I do use them straight out of the camera and yet they looked like someone photoshoped them. Well I have been learning to use it more and more and it never stops amazing me. i am now a Leica Fan and will be from now on. I am going to purchase the GF1 due to a review that I saw and also since I am afraid to use this special Edition Camera casually. I want to collect it but my god does it take good pictures.I will never hesitate to use this camera over any of my previous models. i have seen some DSLR pics from some people RAW of course and sometimes I think that some people who call themselves photographers only own expensive equipment. Yet they do not know how to use the full potential of what they have. They lack creativity as well and I am talking about cameras more expensive than this. yet my pictures when compared to them, have more color and clarity. Well that is my opinion. Yet this is an amazing camera that will be used for what it was meant to "Take memories and capture pictures" Not just take pictures but capture shots that are worth while. Well that is my little review. I hope that some one that sees this goes out and gets the Dlux 4.
