The Sony Cybershot DSC-TX1 Digital Camera is packed with new technology and features which allow it to boast major improvements in low-light photography. With the new "Exmor R" back-illuminated CMOS sensor technology, performance improves shooting in low-light scenarios, enhancing image clarity and drastically reducing grain, creating amazingly clear, vibrant photos. Sony's "Exmor R" image sensors can gather more light, resulting in approximately twice the sensitivity compared to conventional sensors.
To further extend low-light shooting performance, the DSC-TX1 incorporates Hand-held Twilight and Anti-motion Blur, and Multi-shot Modes. Using "Exmor R" CMOS sensor's high speed, these modes capture six separate images in less than a second and utilize Sony's BIONZ processor to combine the shots into a single image of extraordinary detail and low noise.
The DSC-TX1 is made for an audience that wants advanced technology in a compact design. With a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, it lets users focus in at as little as 0.4 inches from a subject for extraordinary close-up shots. The 4x telescopic zoom is perfect for capturing far-away subjects, and Sony's Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps overcome camera shake. In the Sweep Panorama mode the camera shoots continuously while you sweep across the scene and then automatically stitches the pictures together to create one stunning panoramic photo.
The TX1 features a new operation on the touch panel that lets you scroll through images with an effortless "flick" of your finger and directly access menus on the 3-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus display. With its slim profile of just 0.64-inch (16.5mm), the 10.2 mega-pixel DSC-TX1 offers streamlined, distinguished curves for a sophisticated look appealing to the fashion-oriented who are also looking for great performance.

Comments about Sony DSC-TX1 Cybershot Digital Camera (Silver):
I purchased this as a Christmas present for my 17 year old daughter. Her most specific request about a camera was that it be small.
Well this fit the bill! She can put this little baby in the back pocket of her jeans with no problem. She also really likes the fact that the zoom lens is internal. Hopefully this will save on the "lens" errors we always seem to get with digital cameras.
By the way, so far the pictures have come out great too!

Comments about Sony DSC-TX1 Cybershot Digital Camera (Silver):
I'm an amateur, and know that I will never carry heavy equipment around, but want to take lots of shots during visits with my grandson, on vacations, or special events at work. After reading many reviews, I bought the Cyber-Shot. B&H was cheaper than anywhere else, and got the camera to me quickly, even during the busy holiday season. It's easy to use, and has still and movie modes. Lot's of features, and not that hard to understand how they work.

Comments about Sony DSC-TX1 Cybershot Digital Camera (Silver):
The camera is very nice. Extremely fast recycle times and unbelievable macro mode. I can get less than an inch away from something and take a full resolution photo. By the time you zoom in on the picture after you've taken it, it looks like you are viewing something through a microscope. Incredible! I also am really happy wiht the video. It maintains focus while zooming in and out and has good audio. The touchscreen is very user friendly and quick. Also, love the panorama mode. The only complaint I have is that on about 2% of the pictures I've taken I get these weird white circles that look like giant snowflakes. It happens whether I'm indoors, outdoors, low light, bright light...doesn't seem to matter. I'm going to contact Sony to see if this is a known problem. [...] Very pleased!

I have had 4 Sony DCS Cybershots and this one is my favorite. It is much slimmer than the previous one and appears to be constructed better. I like the large touch screen and it is easy to use. The panoramic feature is why I bought this one and it works great. No more taking several picturea nd the stiching them together. It even removes red eye after the picture is taken. WOW.

I was trying to get an earlier version of this camera (FZ-35)' but the salesman convinced me to get this one.
It is an extraordinary camera, halfaway between a point&shoot and a professional one. It has everything of a point&shoot, plus: very stable on night shooting and filming. The audio caption on filming is highly accurate, evn when i got my back to people singing in the street. I could still hear them perfectly. Good zoom too.
I didn't get to all the features yet, but so far, the only "but" is the size. But you have to deal with it in order to get all the features!

This is a great little camera with a multitude of functions. The touch screen is a flexible way to change options. Main drawback is that you can't use redeye prevention in several modes including ez-mode and anti-blur options. That is important to have for many situations.

Comments about Sony DSC-TX1 Cybershot Digital Camera (Silver):
Just an amazing camera.
Every time we use it, it just blows our minds.
Of course, there are many great cameras out there.
That's a given.
But what is soooooooo special about the Sony DSC-TX1, I think, is how much technology is loaded into such a tiny package.
Couldn't believe the size. It is tiny, folks.
Amazing what kind of imaging power you can carry in a shirt pocket.(720P HD video ta boot)
And with Carl Zeiss optics, even.
I am a professional photographer and own a slew of Hassleblad gear.
I know the value of shooting through Zeiss glass.
We are SCUBA divers and Sony even makes an underwater case, specifically for this camera, that will go to 130 feet for under $200.
This bad boy will be diving the Palancar & Colombia Reefs, off Cozumel, this Fall.
What more can I say??

It has a new feature that I thought I'd never use. But onve I tried it (those 6 pictures in a sequence), I liked it. And this camera is so light to carry that I can forget it's in my purse. To use during my travels, it's really practical.

Comments about Sony DSC-TX1 Cybershot Digital Camera (Silver):
I've been a loyal user of Sony point and shoot cameras for the last 5+ years. This model has many marked improvements and more intuitive features over my previous DSC-T300. The pictures taken thus far utilizing the night shot, panoramic and high speed image capture modes has truly impressed me! Don't let it's surprisingly compact size deceive you into thinking it's not packed with performance or options. I used this camera in conjunction with the available marine pack (plus an external light source) on my trip to Maldives. The images were absolutely breathtaking!! From taking pictures on the beach, to the dance floor or sports arena, to scuba diving, you'll be prepared for almost any adventure, anywhere! I do highly recommed purchasing the faster PRO-HG Duo HX memory sticks with this camera as well.
