When I recently converted from film to digital, I was considering my lighting system also changing from continuous lighting only, to strobe solely. But, old habits and way of shooting are not that easy to give up. I have always hated flash photography, and prefer to shoot natural light as much as is feasibly possible.
When I cannot, then prefer to have continuous lighting to light the scene. In the past, it meant burning hot halogen or incandescent lights, and I wanted to avoid that also, why I looked at LED lighting.
These light are very handy, they can be mounted via your camera's accessory shoe (oh, by the way, I am using these for still photography, not videography, as which they were primarily designed), or, with the purchase of little shoe mounts with a threaded base, like I did, can be connected to any ol' tripod / light stand, or any clip/grip that has a thread on it to screw it onto.
They are small, light and can fit three in the same spot a camera flash would fit in your camera bag.
I got these mostly for portraiture work (I got three initially, may pick up a couple more). They have a neat little feature on them where you can connect them on to each other, on either the top or sides, to easily and quickly increase the output in one area.
Which is the only downside I find with them, they are not the most bright, and pretty much need to be just out of frame, or within five feet of your subject for them to do any good. But do provide a nice diffused illumination.
A very big plus with them for me, is the fact that they can be plugged in during a portraiture shoot, if I have access to outlets, or just simply powered by their internal and rechargeable battery, for when access to outlets is not possible.
A little pricey for the output, and wish they were a quarter of their price cheaper, but still are a pretty good deal for what you get. Price was a factor in my considering them, as I am not ready to shell out the big bucks for larger, more powerful lights... so, these compact, available little light sources to pull out and have when needed, adequately fit the bill.
They are daytime color balanced, I believe... I shoot mostly black and white, so the mixture of color temperatures is of no real concern with me, but something to be aware of for you color shooters.
All the best to you, and happy shooting!

This color of this light is described as "daylight, 4500 K"; it is not. It is more like "tungsten, 3200-3400 K". In order to use it as a daylight fill it has to be used with Full Blue CTB filter (or similar dichroic); this will take respectively 2 f-stops or 1 f-stop out of already weak output. Works fine in tungsten/ warm fluorescent lighted interiors.

I hate using flash and found these lights to be perfect when shooting at night. I use 2 lights when shooting wedding receptions or when I have a very dark lit room. Its a life saver when you need it. I will sometimes diffuse or bounce the light to get a softer effect, but most of the time the light is perfect.

So I ordered one and I got it. Has helped me a lot with some shoots but really it is not an indispensable thing to have. It's more of a "nice to have", "makes things a little bit easier" kind of equipment.

I use this light as a fill against flash photography, and a secondary light source for video. It has a moderately powerful output, and helps to round out uneven light. Rechargeable, so no batteries required. It is smaller than I anticipated, and the craftsmanship is mediocre at best. In the end it is not a bad buy for the price.

I bought this light as an aid for low available light indoor shoots (musicians mostly). It works exactly as stated. I ordered an adaptor so that I could use it on a small tripod (based on another review) but this was unnecessary - it does have universal plugs as stated. I was concerned that the color of this light may be too cool for photography but it's not for my purposes. Funny, I've had two opportunities since I received it to use it as an emergency light as well!

Bought this a couple weeks ago. I've used it for fill light on outdoor flower photos, and indoors for some family photos. Works well and recharges quickly.

It was light and compact- perfect for luminating frogs at night using novaflexible arm unit.
The light was good and constant. I wouldnt mind seeing adjustable lumination control on that unit in future.

I bought this for night-time people photography. It's pretty small and quite bright - a bit painful to look into, so I often pose my subjects looking off some other direction. Still, it doesn't illuminate the subject too brightly, and it's fairly realistic for urban streetscape portraits.

I liked this light for the up close interviews. Far away its very weak. But if you are doing up close shots for interviews, etc , then its a great value esp since it comes with a built in rechargeable battery ! Yay
