Manfrotto 521PROILANCAV Remote and Adapter Kit
The Manfrotto 521PROILANCAV is a remote control kit for camcorders utilizing the AV-R connection for LANC control. This kit comes with the 521PROI controller and 522AV adapter for connectivity.
- 521PROI Remote
- The 521PROi is a LANC protocol remote control that has improved the 521PRO firmware and its internal electronic components in order to be more user friendly and to cover all the new features of the newest Sony and Canon cameras as the speed zoom and focus control. It is compatible with the auto focus function and AF/MF switch and features a smart function of automatic resetting of the main knob, which grants a constant precision of movement of the remote control.
- 522AV Adapter
- This adapter connects the cameras with the AV-R plug to the LANC protocol remote controls. It is designed with a 20cm (7.8") cable and works well with the 521I remote.

I've bought a steadicam Zephyr a few months ago, but needed something to get control over my zoom, focus and record functions, without loosing the stabilization of the steadicam. And I've bought this little remote and it fit perfectly on the and of the steadicam arm, and from there, there's just a little wire that goes right into my lanc camera input. And so far, it work perfectly and I've got now control over vital fonction ! You won't be able to do the "Don Juan" style with your steadicam with these combination, unless you buy a longer lanc wire, which I did too, and find out to work also perfectly so far. You won't loose any of the steadicam stabilization, if you install this the right way. Might need to rebalance a little bit left or right your sled, but that's about it. I'm using the Sony NX-5 cam on it, and got every control that offers this remote.

I have high hope for this product. After using it one morning, I decided to send it back. The rocker control can be used as zoom or focus. There're times I hit the focus button accidentally and found the zoom is not working. I got frustrated and left certain scenes in bad framing.
