I bought one and when I unboxed it, it had a huge crack on the slate and it was almost broken in two parts. Unusable[...]The slate itself is quite thin and fragile. The clapper, however, is solid.The letters on the slate are engraved but the white stripes on the clapper are stickers.Good thing : it is very complete and has all the data you could need : including the show number, the camera filters, the effects...

I use this for both film and video production. The Clapper Sticks works great when not in use.
For the price, it should've come with a carrying case. But other than that, it great.
