Comments about LaCie Core7 USB 2.0 Hub (Grey):
I needed a powered hub and this one is certainly compact. The power cord has a small rectangular transformer built into plug, so there is no brick to deal with. It would be very easy to travel with this, if there was a need. One reviewer fussed abou the device being a homely brown instead of grey (as described). The device is so darned compact, at 3 x 5 x .5", that I cannot imagine why its color would even be an issue. It works. What more does it need to do? However, if you find brown unappealing, I suggest spray paint. They make it for plastic. Two shots of whatever color is your favorite and you now have a designer hub.
I haven't used it for very long, but what can go wrong with a hub that is as well-built as this one?

Comments about LaCie Core7 USB 2.0 Hub (Grey):
As a hub, it works as a hub should. It comes with a "wall-wort" type AC adapter, but it isn't extremely large, and it hangs sideways not down so it doesn't block other outlets. It also includes two international adapters.
The color described on the site is "Grey" and the box calls it "Warm Grey", but it is really gray. I'd describe it as "Taupe". It is very brown-ish, including the cables.
It is a 6 port hub, unless one of your devices uses USB mini-B, but the cable is built-in so you can't remove it if you don't need it. It has a nice little compartment to hide the cable if it isn't used.
There is no USB-B port on it, so you have to use the built in cable to connect to your device. The built-in cable is only 6 inches long. It included an extension cable, which is also taupe, but it is only 3 feet long.
All of the ports are nice and snug, and the included cables are thin, but seem rugged.
