ONE from Apogee is a pocket-sized, USB music interface featuring their award winning sound quality and designed to work easily with Apple's GarageBand, Logic, Final Cut, or any Core Audio compliant application. The implementation of the product is as elegant as it is simple to set up and operate.
There are 3 input options provided. The first is using the built-in condenser microphone, housed in a specially tuned enclosure and which delivers surprisingly good results. A second option is to use the built-in preamp with a microphone of choice, the former providing a very respectable 53dB of gain and full 48V phantom powering.
The third option is for recording guitars or basses via the instrument input. The input exhibits extremely low noise and a transparent signal path, making it the ideal solution for recording or performing live with a Mac. Output is supplied by the 1/8" jack on the front allowing connection to either headphones or powered speakers.
A single encoder knob provides direct access to the tuned enclosure microphone, external microphone or instrument selection, and output functions for input level and volume adjustment. The unit's size makes it very travel friendly, and when fitted with the optional microphone stand mount, it becomes the ultimate portable recording solution for quickly capturing musical ideas, recording high quality demos, rehearsals, podcasts, lectures, interviews, voice-overs and more.

Comments about Apogee Electronics ONE - USB Audio Interface:
Had an old M-Audio Duo for my G5 that the company refused to upgrade the firmware for for SystemX. So much for them & their products. Researched & heard good things about the Apogee One. It's fantastic -- very light & portable. Works great with my old AKG studio mic. Bought it, & ironically was immediately was called by my agent for a remote VO Audition recording. I plugged in the One & it was instantly recognized by Garage Band. Did several takes -- they all sounded great. Perfect for those need an easy to transport quality input device.

This Apogee One is a a high quality, portable break out box with a USB 2.0 interface. I am using it on the road for voice recording and love it. It does not take up a lot of space and it's easy to use. I recommend this to anyone who needs a portable, USB 2.0 break out box at a reasonable price.

Comments about Apogee Electronics ONE - USB Audio Interface:
I mainly bought Apogee One for its capability of live recording with superior sound quality and of course compact design.I use this small but powerful monster for recording my rehearsals on violin. It is very easy to set up and use right away from the box, especially with Apples GarageBand, though I tried Logic too with same ease of use.
While connected to computer (USB) it is becoming little warm.I hope it is not a malfunction.Supplied softwares functionality is slow and clumsy, but still those cant be reason for me to rate it for 5 star.

Comments about Apogee Electronics ONE - USB Audio Interface:
If you're like me, and you want to record real instruments (but only one at a time), this is a great interface. I get zero latency monitoring through the headphones and can play along with the rest of the song spot-on. I've been using the instrument in for direct bass, but the mic ins sound great too. The best thing is portability & speed of setting everything up. I'm not going back to a 1u rack audio interface again; I love the One. I may pick up a Duet in the future, however, to use alongside the One.
