Bescor's small, lightweight 35W LED-35N Light is a small but powerful light source for video or DSLR cameras. It can be camera or stand-mounted to provide a surprising amount of light in a wide beam (up to 20 feet away) from the 30 high-intensity LED bulbs in its mirrored reflector. You'll get 60 minutes of light time from 4 AA batteries at 5600°K (an included 3300°K filter can be used to balance the light for indoor lighting).

I bought this light to use for man-on-the-street style interviews and I am very satisfied with the results, especially when considering the price point.
The plastic housing of the unit feels pretty cheap, but as long as you're careful with your equipment, I wouldn't worry.
The tungsten filter is a little yellower that I would prefer, I opted to instead cut a small piece of CTO gel and slip it in behind the clear filter that comes with the light.
The light isn't SUPER bright really, so if you are torn between this one and the model with the dimmer, go for this one. The dimmer isn't worth the extra money and you will want every bit of light you can get out of this guy. Because of the low price point, I actually bought two of these to use together for some added illumination.
You do need to be pretty close to your subject with this though, 5-10 feet max.
Overall, I would recommend this light to anyone needing an inexpensive, yet decent way to shed some light on an otherwise dark situation.

When I got the first one delivered one LED fell out from the shipping box. It was simply not soldered onto the print. I returned it and got another one. One LED did not light up and was loose. So instead of shipping it back again, generating another round of shipping costs I opened it up and soldered it by myself. All other LED's looked like they will come off after the first use. I have never seen a craftsmanship that bad. The soldering job looks like done by a first grader by hand (my daughter's 4th grade project looked better!). [...] Unless QA from this manufacturer improves don't buy!

Comments about Bescor 35W LED Light:
This is an excellent light that takes four AA batteries. it throws out a lot of light. Excellent for interviews; a great bandaid for those situations when you wish you had a light, it fits in most pockets, and it does not get hot! At this price, I wonder why everyone does not have one, even photographers that just shoot stills: ever been in a situation where you were in the dark and did not have enough light for your auto focus to work, well guest what, this is the light for you...Ted [@]

I got this as an unwanted add-on when I purchased a Z-finder. It looks really cheap and feels that way too--but is quite useful. Throws a lot of light. I will use it as a fill light out of doors for stills and video.

Comments about Bescor 35W LED Light:
So I received this light as a free gift when purchasing the Canon 7D. However I had one already that I had to ship to Bescor twice to fix. The problem with this product is that it is very flimsy and poorly constructed. When working it does great for low light situations during wedding receptions. However I have used this product 3 times in a year because it just keeps breaking. I take care of my gear but the battery holding area tears apart real quick. So delicately place the batteries in the device, talk sweetly to it and pray.
I do not use this product for photography but for video.

This light is a pretty good light for the price, the battery life is good thanks to AA duracell. The light works really good in dark places to do up close interviews.

This light is Ok. The battery door electrical connector broke after a few uses. Fixed it with gaffers tape.

Comments about Bescor 35W LED Light:
This light was bought to use as a fill light to be used in convention centers and inside cars. If the light is much more than a couple of feet away from the subject, it is ineffective. The problem is, if the light is that close the light doesn't spread enough to cover the subjects entire face. The construction feels cheap, the case is all plastic and the one switch feels as if it won't really last.

I use this light on my XH-A1 for tv show production. It works fine in close-up situations. Nice even light for dark shooting...and decent fill for low light shooting.

Comments about Bescor 35W LED Light:
The only thing good about this light is that it casts light, it fits on your camera's hot shoe, and it's inexpensive. Besides that, it's cheaply built, not dimmable (and don't try the Bescor dimmable version either - it's useless if you're shooting video because it begins to flicker as soon as you dim it).

Comments about Bescor 35W LED Light:
Cheap trick. Throws a little bit of light; but there is no way to control it. No dimmer, no barn doors etc. May be handy for those that need a little kick light where space is an issue. As a vox pop light it's fine however not being able to dim it would be an issue for a subtle shot . . .

I really didn't think they would be bright enough, so I bought three of them. Well, for me lighting will be less of a challenge now. These LED lights are great, compact and reliable. I get better than the one hour of use they list in the specs regarding battery life. I'm actually getting almost 2 hours of continuous use out of them using Duracell batteries.

I just used that light for night shooting and it is terrific!
Colors are very accurate and similar to shooting under sun light. It is maybe not flood type light but it has pretty nice angle and range,
Other side of this light is unavailability to adjust it brightness and under the dark conditions it requires careful planning an keeping some distance from shooting object because of it brightness. Also would be nice to have a frosted glass not changing the color temperature for softness and wider angle (similar to glass attached to strobe light). Overall the light is not heavy and my wife had no problem to used it mounted to Sony camcorder. It is not for pro but for that price is good.

I use this light for filming. It would be great in almost no lit situation where the subject is about 5 feet away. If you have a bit of extra cash go for something more powerful.

Comments about Bescor 35W LED Light:
I am using this light for fill during interviews by itself and combined with two soft boxes at times. I was hoping to be able to use it for in car shots, but it just isn't bright enough. For a fill light, you can't beat it for the price. The case feels rather cheap, but again, you are paying for the function, not the form. Battery life seems decent at about 4 hours with standard Alkalines. I haven't tried rechargeables yet but think they would probably be a good investment. Overall very satisfied with the light, although don't expect huge amounts of light.

Works great for what we have used it for so far! Very bright; great for short distances. Feels a little cheap-construction wise. Filter that comes with it is nice.

Comments about Bescor 35W LED Light:
I purchased these lights to use on my Canon 7D cameras for video work at weddings and I have to say that the lights aren't bad as far as distance is concerned, but you absolutely cannot look into the light... or even anywhere near the light... in fact... you probably shouldn't even have your face turned in the same direction of the light or else you are going to be blinded. Even from as far as 12 feet away, looking into these lights will burn your eyes off... It is like one big blazing box of light and these lights are freaking huge.... Almost as big as the 7D itself...
To combat the overwhelming power of the lights, we tried to put a 2 stop diffusion on the front and it still didn't do much. So I ended up returning them. They just aren't really the best on camera lights in my opinion. If you are using them for ambient light, then go for it, but I would recommend passing on these for on camera lights and going with the Sony lights.
Also... The battery life really isn't the best in the world.

This light is almost exactly what I have been looking for. I have a Canon 5D Mark II which has HD video capability. Unfortunately a flash doesn't work for video and my camera bag is pretty full.
This is small enough to take with me, yet bright enough to, with some additional lighting in a room, take videos up to 15 to 20 feet away.
It appears to emit light at about 5600 degrees K, which I like.
Being aware of other comments on the construction of this light, I examined it carefully when I received it. All the LEDs are in place. Nothing is loose. While it appears to be constructed almost 100% out of plastic, the plastic is strong and solid. The plastic also enables it to be light, so it doesn't add any significant weight to my photo bag.
I find it invaluable!
